QuestionWill this work in the ps 5? I just bought it. Store pickup on September 7th.

- Answer Yes, It is compatible with the PS5! The PS5 recognizes it and then asks to format. I installed after Sony sent out the latest PS5 OS update on 9/15/2021. All my PS5 games run just like on the internal console SSD. Lightening fast. No hassle easy peasy installation.

QuestionI’ve just purchased the SSD and I’m so happy because the sales price for 2TB is simply the best just $297, thanks BestBuy. Just one question, I’ve watched a couple of videos on YouTube and they assured that this model heat a lot, is this true?

- Answer Mine only got loud while the new SSD was being formatted earlier today. I’ve been running it for 4 hrs now, downloading while playing a game. I haven’t heard any loud cooling noises. I’m using a horizontal stand. That may also help with air flow

- Answer No as long as you do it properly and dont cause any damage when installing. Sony also says remove it before sending it in for repairs.

QuestionCan you run PS5 games directly from this? I saw on a forum that with EXTERNAL drives, you have to move the games over to the PS5 internal storage in order to play them. Is this the same case?

- Answer This is an internal drive. PS5 games run directly from this. Games do not run from external drives. Installing the drive only takes a couple minutes.

- Answer Yes. When you insert a NVMe drive into the M.2 socket you put it in at a 30 degree angle. The drive will stay at that 30 degree angle until you gently push down on it to screw it down.

- Answer This drive is faster than the PS5 internal drive, and it also helps to load games from a 2nd drive because the PS5 obviously reads/writes from its own drive. This means that your games will load faster, and FPS drops may be lessened in high intensity areas. Your normal running framerate (when not under heavy load) should not change, though.

- Answer The way I have mine set up is i have my Samsung 980 pro 1tb as my main drive which holds certain games I know I’m gonna keep on there for max performance like world of Warcraft or final fantasy 14. I have another drive that is bigger that I use to install other games that after I’m done I delete them. If you have enough slots you can just plop this in there and use it as another drive for storage of games and other media. You don’t have to remove your drive. Hope this answers your question.

- Answer No you don’t have to delete your stuff on the main drive. Once you put it in and format it you can transfer your games onto it.

- Answer I’m sure they could but they would charge. I watched YouTube videos on installing this and it was fairly easy. I build pcs so I was picky with the heat dissipation so I bought an aftermarket cover that also acts as a heatsync.

- Answer You can sell it on eBay since this can be installed in a PC as well. It’s not limited to just the PS5 so it will do fine being sold. Especially this time of year.
