Yes. I have installed this in my PS4 with no issue. The only drawback is that after installing the OS and minor user information, the hard drive was robbed of approximately 22GB (weird). Don’t know why since the the OS file is just over 1 GB and my user data was merely 2.8 GB. But its fast and the performance is quiet so its a win so far.

Yes it will work in the ps4 but it is only a 5400 RPM. I would use a 7200 RPM or SSD if you have the $ for better performance. I am using it to store pics from my laptop so 5400 RPM doesn't really matter I just wanted the 2T drive for space. I hope this helps you.

I almost didn't get this HD because of CommunityAnswer "answer", boy am I glad I didn't pay attention to his/her no sense reply and bought the HD. It works perfectly with my PS4 (first gen). Took me less than 5 minutes to remove the old one and installed the new one. Although it took 5+ hours to backup and restore the old system. One thing, make sure you use the right USB cable when installing the controller, if you use the wrong one it will not work, I thought the hard drive was DOA but decided to look for another USB cable and found the original PS4 cable and it worked. Speed improvement on loading games is not achieved, but SSD is still too expensive and to save 20 seconds or 30-38% faster loading time when loading a game and paying $140.00 more for a hard drive is not worth it for me.

Works perfectly, though the low ram does take a toll when installing new games. Just downloading Call Of Duty MW (2019) took me about 5 hrs The update is 70.348 GBs but on my original HDD it would take about 1-2 hrs to get done. But definitely has my PS4 running like new and for the price you can’t beat it.

No, this drive is for internal use. You would need a USB external case to make this drive compatible with a PS4.
