when it comes to hard drives, u can pretty much choose any brand or size you want. Yes, you can use a 1 tb drive on that laptop, make sure you make a recovery set before replacing the hard drive on the laptop and back up any data you want to save.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Samantha it sounds like you need to backup and replace that drive asap!!! These drives will fit and are supportted, you'll have no issues installing them and you can get them as large as 1TB.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This drive would not be what you are looking for. Looks like your system is a SATA-II system which means you won't get speeds faster then SATA-II. It should be able to take a 1TB drive. You'll need a 2.5" SATA-II or SATA III drive. I would suggest a SSD (solid state drive) as they are less likely to fail on a laptop. You'll need some way to transfer your operating system to the new drive from your old drive or the disc's to re-install everything (assuming your machine has a cd, dvd, or bd drive). From your question I'm assuming your computer hardware knowledge is low. I'd suggest either taking it to someone who knows what they are doing or buying a new laptop. Paying someone to do it and the cost of the new drive is probably going to be around the cost of a lower end new laptop which if your picky would be faster then what you have now. Take your laptop to someone and get an estimate of what it would cost to install and transfer your system compare this to a new laptop and decide.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sata II determines connection type and speed, which is the same connection as sata, just 2x as fast. You should perform a disk defrag and after you can re-partition the drive i.e. add more space to the partition that is running out of space (C). A simple google search (you tube) and it will walk you thru the steps. If you decide to purchase a new hdd you do not have to start over ( reinstall everything ) There are many pieces of software that will copy your current drive to the new one. Then you can take out the old hdd and put in the new one, with all your info already installed. Does work best with the SSD drives.

The laptop you have is fairly new and most of today's machines will accept the SATA interface. Lots of versions of this interface but don't worry they will most always work but depending on modes they may suffer from performance reduction to be compatible. (you probably wont notice any performance issues) If you want a faster drive look for higher RPM but be willing to pay a premium. If you want to feel a noticeable difference go with a solid state drive. I recommend a samsung evo. The WD you referenced will be equal to what you originally had. Yes, you can put a 1T or more in that laptop. SATA2.6 can mean that the conectors are different, stear clear of that just for simplicity. Just remember, everything about your computer is on that drive. When you replace it you will be starting over. Make sure you have recovery software from when you got your laptop. You will need to re-install windows, office, all of the things that you are used to using. Hope this helps.....
