The size of the hard drives are the issue... All Samsung tv's I have top out at 2tb. Your best bet is to use the best router you can afford with a usb 3 port, tri band with MIMO.. basically all the bells and whistles.. Go on their website or google the name and add max hard drive to it. The one I have for example only has a voltage limitation: "The Linksys EA8300 has one USB 3.0 port that is capable of supporting an external hard disk or flash drive with up to 1100 mA current draw." Also with a router you can watch on any laptop or tablet etc
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm assuming this is a SmartTV. Check the SmartTV manual or search Google for your SmartTV brand name and see what the HD formatting requirements are. All may have to do is reformat your HD to what ever formatting your SmartTV requires.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on several factors. First, this drive has its own power supply which is good, it does not have to depend on the TV's USB port to power it. If your 4TB hard drive gets its power only from a USB port, it may be that your set does not provide enough juice for it to operate. This will vary from TV to TV. Some TV operating systems may impose a limit on the size of the hard drive it can recognize. It's possible that a 4TB drive may be too large for some TVs to use. In this case a 10TB drive would not work either. You will have to try one to see. Best Buy has a good return policy, if it doesn't work take it back, just be sure to keep everything including the box in good shape.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know this is an old question but since I had one, let’s try. Yes-no. It depends on your TV. My Sony won’t see it, neither does the Visio plasma TV from 2004. However my 2 year old 65” Sharp Aquos smart TV will easily see the drive and play my video, movie and picture files on any windows formatted hard drive. So far, it’s works on the HD 10g and sea gate 12g powered drives tho the HD was set as two 5g drive letters, one for movies and other for vids and pics. The sea gate was partitioned as two 6g sections. Either way, yes, if your tv recognizes that large of a partition.
