I do not have experience with Mint 191. per se, but there is nothing special about this drive that should preclude it from working with any operating system. That being said, it comes formatted to work with Windows, and you will likely want to reformat the drive to ext4 if you plan to use it exclusively with Mint. If not, you might want to consider exFAT for maximum compatibility (though you will need to install the exfat packages for that: expat-fuse, expat-utils, etc.
