- Answer I took mine to the Geek Squad and had it formatted there because I followed the directions but was not able to do it on my own. It took like one minute for the Geek Squad member to format it correctly and it now works great.

- Answer you can open exactly like a flash drive and 'drag and drop'. that's what i most commonly do.

QuestionCan I use this as both a giant USB flash drive and continuous back up? I have a USB 3.0 flash drive, but need extra reassurance I have as much backup and room for new programs in the future. Thanks ☺

- Answer Yes, in operation the computer sees no difference between a USB flash drive and this hard drive. It also comes with backup software installed on the drive should you choose to use it.

QuestionIs there an adapter for plugging this directly into an HDMI port on a tv? I currently use it with a roku, and it works great. I want to be able to take it to a hotel and plug it into their tv. Is this possible?

- Answer No, it is not possible to plug this directly into an HDMI port. An HDMI signal has to be sent from something like a computer, Blu-ray player, etc. So you could plug this drive up to the USB port on a computer, and then connect the computer to the TV via HDMI port. Some TV's have USB ports directly on them.

- Answer I formatted mine with ext4 on an ubuntu system and have been using it as a daily backup disk. It works great for that.

The drive comes with USB 3.0 Type-A Interface. We have not tested the drive on mobile devices. We recommend to use computer to backup the phone to the drive. - Answer Hi TomP, Please be informed that the WD Easystore drive comes equipped with WD Backup software for windows OS and Time Machine for macOS. Moreover, WD Backup is an application which automatically stores a copy of your files, photos, and documents with on premise backups to a WD drive as primary storage. It can also restore previous backups to your computer. WD Backup does an incremental backup. - Answer No! You can only use with one system. I have one for my Mac and one for my windows. The reason being because you will have to change format and everytime you do so you have to delete everything.

- Answer Yes, you can run applications for an external HD, however I would recommend a SSD and not a regular HD. You will notice the SSD is way more faster and mirrors a typical SSD that comes installed in your computer. The regular external HD would run the application slower.
