• Yes, as long as your movies are in a format that both the hard drive and your TV understands.

• Yes you can. But however when u plug it in to you smart tv to use like a movie hub it will ask you to format to use it. So keep in mind the first time u will format it to start putting your files on it. If the format isn't like the format of your tv will you will be promted by your tv to format it when u plug it in. So you will lose the same data u just put on it. That will be your only issue
