• They can only be directly transferred if you have bought the phone to external hard Drive adapter. Doesn't cosy very much to get. If not then you will have to go fro. Phone to computer to external hard drive.

• use the small memory sticks designed specifically for that, lexar or other jumpdrive works with free app and automatically transfers to it, very nice. this hard drive does not contain an app or lightning/android plug for that functionality, best buy has the right thing next to the flash sticks

• Try using air transfer. iOS is horrible. I only use it cause I got an iPhone as gift.
