A:Answer No, it's not hard. Just plug in the cord to the hard drive and plug the USB side into the computer. Use windows explorer to move files as you normally do.
Western Digital does usually have software to manage the hard drive and update things... they try to make things "easier", and most times I can't stand using it and it makes things more complicated. For simplicity, just drag and drop your files. Also, just remember to use eject the hard drive before pulling the plug from the computer, in case you didn't know that already. Don't know how to do that then do a google search for "HOW TO SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE IN WINDOWS 7". :)
