Hi Frank, Thanks for showing your interest in the WD My Book drive. Please know this is an external storage hard drive and it has 1 USB port. USB 3.0 supports interface transfer rates up to 5 Gb/s. USB 3.0 is backward compatible with USB 2.0. A USB 2.0 Interface supports interface transfer rates up to 480 Mb/s. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The drive has only one usb interface connection. The drive is backwards compatible with usb 2.0. The drive is extremely quiet and reads and writes very fast. If you have a newer computer it will work flawlessly with the usb 3.0 connection. If you have an older computer it may need a usb 3.0 card installed to achieve the high speed transfer rate.
