No. This is a storage device that is meant for data storage and access through the internet. Great for privately sharing family videos, photos and other files with other folks anywhere they can access the internet. Has an APP for Iphone which is good for seeing photos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably not, although that is more a limitation of Quickbooks than of the My Cloud device. (On the other hand, there are many limitations of the WD My Cloud that might deter you from trying this. *Please* Google "WD My Cloud problems" before you commit.) In the case of Windows, Quickbooks is not written as portable software, which means that it stores quite a bit of configuration data directly within the Windows registry itself. Every time you open Quickbooks on a different computer, it will basically assume that it is only operating on that one computer. That's not to say that you couldn't get it to work -- just be aware that the solution may not be stable. In addition, setting your installation up in this manner may also be in violation of the Quickbooks Licensing agreement (the Terms of Service you agree to when you install the software).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't actually done this, but don't see why it cannot be done in a routine manner.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.QuickBooks will be the limiting factor. But also your networking setup will need to be setup to make it work. My WAG, is no.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll have to install quickbooks on your computer, and add the WD Cloud as the location to save your files. If you're wanting to have multiple people, or booklets/workbooks (I'm not familiar with Quickbooks) then you're going to need to contact Quickbooks and ask how their software works with NAS'.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably not. It is not a real NAS drive, in that it does not allow full access from outside the local network. if you are thinking about this for a SOHO application -- DO NOT DO IT. spend the money and set up a real server. OR set up quick books on a local PC -- and use remote desk top to access that PC remotely (that is probably how I would do it).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I highly doubt you can run programs from it remotely. Its more for accessing you backed up data remotely.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That should be OK but BE SURE to make manual backups to a location other than the WD (Backup to your local c: drive for example) as since this is just a single hard drive, it can fail and wipe out all of the data in the process.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Based on my experience I wouldn't put anything on this device that I had to rely on. Nothing!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would try it. It takes files easily. Not sure how big Quickbooks is so it could take awhile to load. I would leave the Ethernet cord on while trying it. Easy to access files on there though. Good luck!
