QuestionCan this unit be accessed remotely via internet (uploads & downloads) without using another service such as DropBox or WD cloud service? If so, is there a restriction on any single file size?

QuestionDoes the 4tb 2 bay model not mirror the first drive? If not can you set it up that way? I'm asking because i want to have a back-up of my back-up, I know the 8tb models do it. Wasn't sure about the 4tb models. Thanks

- Answer Yes the 4TB model can be configured in RAID 1 mode which would provide a 2TB backup drive with the other 2TB drive a mirror image. This setup is just like the 8TB model.

- Answer The My Cloud EX2 Ultra can be setup in RAID 0,1; JBOD & spanning. Therefore the device can be used as a 4TB backup, or 2ea 2TB drives which mirror the backup for redundancy, JBOD (just a bunch of drives) or spanning, where the 2 drives are used as one large drive. The simple answer is yes but it has different meanings of "occupied" based upon how you set the device to perform.

QuestionHey there - I'm looking to store FLAC music files on this drive. I'd like to leave this on at all times, so I'd like to make sure that it has a "sleep mode" that will shut the drives off when not in use. Does this NAS offer that option? THANKS

- Answer Hey Mike, I logged into the UI of mine and under settings found this., I would say yes it does have it. In my case something on my network is almost always accessing it so I couldn't tell you first hand but the option is definitely there.

QuestionAre the drives hot-swappable in RAID1? Without this feature, there is no redundancy and the system is no better than a single backup drive. Thanks.

QuestionI currently have a WD My Cloud 2TB NAS, and all is good except that I cannot stream the videos I have on it. I have to download each video before I can view it, apparently because it is only single bay? Is this what I need to stream? Does it support PLEX?
