- Answer I have a macbook pro and can tell you this was as easy as anything that connects to a mac. That's why I bought mine and its pretty seamless- Just find the drive in finder, create a folder, and cut and paste away. Very easy to use.

- Answer Yes. Just press "Command" and "S" at the same time to search. Next type in, "diskutil" and hit enter. From there you have several options to partition the hard drive any way you want.

QuestionBought a WD My Passport for Mac TB External USB 3.0 portable hard drive new 10 months ago it doesn't no go at all. I hear a hum but nothing showing on my MacBook Pro laptop. I ran disk utility 1st aid but the drive never shows. Can I fix it myself?

- Answer You need to run the companion app to set the drive up. I am using this very drive with an old MacBook Pro and it runs great. Drive speed is slow but I am only using USB 2.0.

- Answer I suggest you go to the website for My Passport and ask. Otherwise it does say you can reformat it and wipe it clean to use on other devices. I use on my Mac.

QuestionI have been unable to find My Passport for Mac in different colors, although My Passport for android devices is readily available in several colors. Has anyone seen My Passport for Mac in a color that is not black? Thank you.

- Answer Well, if you happen to find the color that you want that is NOT for Mac and IS for windows, what you can (and should do) is purchase the windows drive you want, use Disk Utility on your OS X and format the drive to Mac OS Extended. After you format the drive, it WILL work and be compatible for use on all Apple products at that point. Thats one thing I recently learned as a Mac Book owner. Purchase NON-Mac (OS X) drive and format them for my use on Mac. They normally cost less that way too! Don't trust me? Look it up online for yourself! :)

- Answer Yes I use it with the newest update on my MacBook Pro and it works great....I have one I use for time machine and one I use as a portable drive but I do think there may be a specific model you have to pick out that is formatted
