Warranty length is listed on the bottom of the box/drive packaging. Some drives that only include a 1 year warranty are eligible for an extended warranty via a card in the packaging/on the Western Digital website. For those with a shorter warranty the extended warranty typically includes a fee. I would encourage you to register all your Western Digital drive(s) on Western Digital's website. www.wdc.com

Have yet to require warranty service so cannot comment on the customer service, although looks to be all website based. It does indicate you may contact the dealer from whom you originally purchased the product or follow the website for the RMA (return material authorization).
