• A:Answer same thing happened to me. i filled out an account with mobile phone number included. filled the webroot key info on it and hit enter. this site webroot.com/secure is a scam. as soon as i hit enter the site said i was compromised and my phone rang, they try to get you to download a app so they can take over your laptop and make you pay. i then uninstalled there app and called the web root phone they said if you buy web root from best let the geek squad install it, so the best advise i would say dont do it your self call geek squad have them do it and save yourself a major head ache that i had

• A:Answer The Webroot filtering extension (which is a browser add-on) certainly helps control scripts and popups. Additionally, I would suggest Ublock Origin as an additional extension for stopping pop-ups - it is available for free in all major browsers!

• A:Answer Yes, Webroot will work on Windows XP. However, please note that certain updates will not be available. Many softwares have stopped supporting Windows XP and Microsoft does not even officially support XP anymore. I highly recommend switching to Windows 10.

• A:Answer You must uninstall security suite completely with no traces left behind which is difficult to do and reinstall it with the same code you used. It’s best to call support if you’re not sure otherwise you may lose one license. Sign on to the site and try to reinstall it from your account may help too.

• A:Answer You can do this on most browsers by going to settings, privacy and security and then clear history. You can also set your browser to reject tracking and also cookies as aggressively as you want. Firefox is good for this along with getting Ublock Origin extension which you can get through Firefox extensions in settings. You can also use private browsing mode to hide your activity but it’s really not that safe.
