• Hi. The Wemo WiFi Smart Light Switch requires an existing Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) with an active internet connection.

• Unfortunately, no. It does require a network with internet to function properly. Although, it might work if you had a router with a wireless network. You wouldn’t be able to use your phone or tablet to control it away from that network. I could be wrong about that.

• it requires the use of internet for set up. you can use it as a regular switch as well. without internet you won’t be able to use remote access
