“How good is the security on these Wemos? I assume if works with an app alone on my phone that it does not interact with my network? Also appears can use without a hub or other device or interface? Now just need one for 3 way switches.”

You can use the Wemo app to have control over your appliances. You connect them to your WiFi network, so I would believe it would be as secure as your network. You do not need a hub if you’re using the app for the product.

I havent pushed button or tried using mobile apps yet...but there must be a way to make it secure...Geek Squad or total tech can help too...which j will try if I cant make secure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I never had an issue with security, and I have 2 wemo minis. Wemo in general work off your home network. However, the app is on your phone. If your home network goes down, the product wont work. The app will show you that the product is offline. Wemo does not currently have anything for 3 way light switches.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We connected through Alexa. Downloaded the app to name it and Alexa will discover it. Not sure if you have to keep the app. Dont know enough technology to answer anything else. It was simple. No issues ao far.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The smart plug has an inbuilt wifi, you need to download wemo app and you should connect it to your network, it doesn’t effect your network nor your personal. It only connect through your mobile phone and app.
