Q: QuestionCan I hook this (or any "smart" tv) up directly to the cable or do I need to go through cable modem first?

• A:Answer Cable or satellite are proprietary connections and are blocked from viewing without their set top boxes. The connection in the back of most TV's will let you receive OTA (Over The Air) with a digital antenna if you don't have cable, or satellite. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionDoes this have RCA Audio Out jacks? Hard to see on the pics. I have an older stereo setup that doesn’t have HDMI jacks and obviously would like to hook the TV into it.

Q: QuestionI bought this to use for screen mirroring my laptop/tablet only as it is advertised to have this capability. I cannot manage to do this (or much else) without a Roku account and internet. I will not connect it to my internet. Is there a fix for this?

• A:Answer You would have to connect with an HDMI cable and use the split/duplicate screen option for your laptop if you aren't connecting it to wifi. Otherwise there is no way to connect. If you don't want to have cables, buy a wireless hdmi. A bit late on response but hope it helps someone.

Q: QuestionCan I hearing audio through TV speaker AND headphones at the same time (using either headphone jack, digital audio out, or RCA out)?

• A:Answer I can't say whether or not the headphone jack will cut off the speakers when something is plugged into it (haven't tried it yet) but the optical out is totally independent of the TV's speaker system. Volume changes, muting, tone controls etc do NOT go out the optical jack. It is the same straight signal all the time. That's true with any TV. The analog jacks will behave differently across the various brands. Some TVs can be set to not cut off the speakers, and some can also be set so the headphone jack outputs a straight signal no matter what changes are made to the TV's audio, much like the optical jack behavior described above.
