Hi Mike, thank you for your time in asking this. These are both Countertop Microwaves, so they will not work over a range. They can be installed in a cabinet with an optional trim kit to give a built in look. They are the same model, the WMC30516HZ is the new name we are using and it does have an updated control panel with White display color instead of blue. The WMC30516AS will not be available soon.
