- Answer Hi! The Temperature controls are for the entire unit, the temperature control regulates the coldness of the air flowing into the compartments. For your convenience, your refrigerator controls are preset at thefactory. When you first install your refrigerator, make sure that the controls are still preset to the mid-setting as shown. The second control is Air Flow Control, it controls how the air flows through the unit.
