- Answer I have this microwave over my gas stove. It is 18 inches above my stove. I do not know the minimum height that may be required. Call Whirlpool and ask a representative.I am very pleased with this microwave.

QuestionMy over the range microwave exhaust fan just came on when no one was in the kitchen . I did have water boiling does it have a sensor ? We unplugged it and then plugged back in it was fine and then about 10 minutes later it came on again on its own .

QuestionWe have an older Whirlpool model - WMH1164XWS - that broke. Wondering if we could use the old mounting brackets, etc., with this model? Trying to assess how easy of a job this would be. Thanks. Dimensions are almost identical, but not exactly.

Questionmy current microwave is 1100 watts. This whirlpool WMH53521HZ is only 1000 watts. How much longer will it take me to cook things? For ex, a cup of water now takes 2 minutes. What will it take in the WMH53521HZ to heat to the same hotness?

QuestionThis microwave was professionally installed in my home with the mounting bar. I believe it needs a mounting plate and not a mounting bar because there is a gap between the microwave and the wall. Is there a mounting plate for this microwave?

QuestionPresent model WMH53520CS-7 measures only 29-5/8 inches wide (or 29-6/8 in rear) -- specs ask for 30 inch opening. Will this model 53521 fit the space?

- Answer I centered mine when I installed it and then put small molding around it to fill the gap. The molding is nailed to the cabinets.

QuestionWant to mount where old model WMH53520CS-7 was -- can I use same mounting hardware?

- Answer I replace my 20 year old Wirlpool Gold Microwave and was not able to use the same mounting bracket. One hole on top worked but I had to drill the second hole. The bracket with the new micro is much thinner metal then the old one so I advise extra screws into wall and use drywall anchors were there is no studs or the bracket bows and bends when installing.

QuestionI want replace model WMH3205XVS with WMH53521HZ. Can you tell me if all of the mounting hardware is the same. I’d like to be able to just slip it right into the hardware I have installed now without dismantling everything.

- Answer I haven't noticed the fan speed decreasing. The micro running mask the fan noise a little so it may seem to lower but it isn't.
