• A:Answer I did not measure it but it is what is a standard size called "counter depth". You cannot by a regular size refrig when your space is counter depth.

• A:Answer My opening width was 38” and I bought this refrigerator based on that. However, I realize now I should have purchased a fridge a couple of inches less wide. Mine is located in a corner, and while opening the refrigerator door on the right is no problem, the freezer door, being on the left, is a bit of a challenge. It’s a beautiful appliance, so I’ll deal with the ‘challenge’. This miscalculation of space was on me, certainly not Best Buy.

• A:Answer Lynda, To ensure proper ventilation for your refrigerator, allow for ¹⁄₂" (1.27 cm) of space on each side and at the top. Allow for 1" (2.54 cm) of space behind the refrigerator. If your refrigerator has an ice maker, allow extra space at the back for the water line connections. When installing your refrigerator next to a fixed wall, leave a 2" (5.08 cm) minimum space on each side (depending on your model) to allow the doors to swing open.
