Who would buy a refrigerator without an ice maker? Someone doesn't want to give up a whole bunch of room in the freezer for ice cubes

Been there...done that...many times. I agree that the extra space is much more essential! But to each their own.

For personal reasons, I've decided to go bear bones and use the money for a greater good; I use ice so infrequently, I can actually make my ice with cube trays. You'd be amazed how many people do not need ice makers. In a few short years, I may donate this frig to charity then buy one with more unnecessary, yet convenient features!

Happened to my brother. He and his wife and baby spent a month in a hotel while his kitchen and basement was torn apart and repaired. I will never have a fridge with an ice maker.

Personally, I hate the look. I have silicon ice cube trays and I have a very fancy water filter at my kitchen sink. I don't like chilled water so I don't need my freezer to take up a bunch of space with pre-fabricated tacky plastic shelf bucket. I don't like the look of a fridge with a fast-food style ice dispenser. Tacky!! and Ugly!! Plus, it's a pain to keep sanitary.
