Open the lid before washing starts and let 'em soak. The lid only locks down during rinse and spin modes.

You can let them soak, however if you wait the full 10 minutes before hitting the button to start it back it will drain all the water out and you will have to restart the washing process. If you have already bought this machine it tells you in the booklet. I read it all the way through since this was my first High Efficiency Washer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In this machine there is a bottom for soaking before washing so you put you clothes in the washer select the Presoak bottom it last for about 10 minutes then start washing according to the settings.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My wife insisted on being able to pause the cycle to soak clothes and this machine allows you to do that. The "start" button is also a "pause" button. You hold it for 3 seconds and it goes into pause mode allowing you to soak or add other materials.
