As there are many different materials manufactured, the texture, size, weight, etc. of the material will cause the number of articles able to be washed to differ per household. We can inform you; however, that a more accurate determination of load size, is the amount of space taken up by a wash load. This is why most washer capacities are currently rated in terms of cubic feet, not the weight of the load or the number of items per load.
With a top-loading washer, you should wait to start the water fill until the washer is loaded, and loosely place dry items into the washer until they reach the top level of the holes in the wash basket.
