A:AnswerOnly the two outer rings on the coil turn red. Not happy as it takes to long to boil. It may be a lemon so will check on replacing it or getting something g different.
A:AnswerThe manufacturer or Best Buy would be the only ones to give you a correct answer. I believe however, Whirlpool changed the coil elements on this model. When I ordered mine I had to wait for over a month until it was back in stock. When it arrived the coil elements looked entirely different. There is a large flexible silver disk in the center. Only after we installed it and used it did we realize what looked like a small change was actually a significant one. We did research, this is what we found.
Starting in 2018, UL regulation requires all coil top ranges to have temperature limiting capabilities to reduce the risk of cooktop oil and grease fires. As a result, our electric coil burners now use Sensi-Temp Technology.
Each burner with this technology has a silver medallion with a button (sensor) in the center of the coil. This button must contact the bottom of the cookware for the Sensi-Temp Technology to sense the temperature properly. When the sensor detects a pan temperature near the limit (450F), the burner will shut off automatically until a lower, safe pan temperature is reached. At that point, heat will resume to the burner. This will not affect everyday cooking, as automatic shut-off is temporary and only happens at very high temperatures.
I am having to learn how to cook on my new stovetop. It is nothing like my old one.Boiling a pot of water is extremely difficult. I really hate the new safety coils and wish I had known of this change before I purchased this. If I had know I would have went with glass or something else. Honestly the stovetop should have a different model number so customers know what they will be getting. Not only does the appliance look different it totally works differently. I am very disappointed.
The silver center also changes color and is difficult to clean.
I hope this helps.
A:AnswerAll electric cook tops ( I have a smooth glass cooktop), when you turn them on the element glows bright red and then it turns off, and then it turns back on again. Electric and do not stay at a set glow, they regulate the set temperature by switching on and off the whole time they are on. Gas stoves stay at the setting you choose the whole time they are on. I like gas, my wife likes electric, therefore we have electric.
A:AnswerThe following is the cut out dimensions for this model Cutout Depth (in) 19 13/16, Cutout Height (in) 4 3/4, Cutout Width (in) 28 5/16, Cutout Width Max (in) 28 7/8 in inches.
A:AnswerThis is how electric cooktop coils function. They don't heat at a particular exact temperature; instead, they fluctuate between "on" and "off" to regulate a standard temperature. It works the same way on standard Glasstop cooktops.
