Dear Valued Consumer: It is always unfortunate that an appliance may need repair during the life of the unit. However, this is not indicative of all of our appliances. Product failures can occur at any time since all components put into an appliance are man-made. It is difficult for us to respond to complaints that are placed on various websites without knowing the details of the service history for each complaint. We are not given information on repairs of any of our appliances unfortunately but if there is an issue, the engineers may redesign a feature or part to solve each and every issue. The numbers of people that have purchased hundreds of thousands of our washers without having a single issue far out weight the number of people who comment on various sites. The components and materials used in all our appliances are of the highest quality available and many of our appliances are still providing excellent service after many years. However, it would be unrealistic for Whirlpool or any other manufacturer to assume that every product they produce will achieve this type of record. Any product containing electrical and/or mechanical components can malfunction, and it is impossible to predict when this might occur. We cannot explain what factors may have contributed to the premature malfunctioning of a unit or how much of a complaint may be due to improper installation or user error once a product is in the home. With the exceptional products that we offer comes exceptional after purchase support, both from our technicians in the field and our customer service representatives. Whirlpool has a dedicated call center specifically for our customers so that we may provide high-end service and support that complement our high end appliances. Our Customer Experience Center is staffed Monday through Friday, 8 AM until 5 PM Eastern time and we are here to assist our customers whenever the need arises. Being an informed consumer means that you are aware of the features of the product you are purchasing, the basic operation of the unit, as well as the warranty and its provisions. This information is helpful as it is the basis for what you can expect from the appliance as well as the company that manufactured the product. Unfortunately, without this knowledge, consumers purchase appliances that do not fit their needs, or are unaware of what the manufacturer can do to assist them in the event they need service, either in or out of warranty. In either case, it is difficult to meet the expectations of all consumers. Thank you for your interest in our Whirlpool washer.
