Questionis this washer an HE, meaning without agitator?

- Answer Yes, it is. It is my first experience with an HE washer. It uses a surprisingly small amount of water and just sort of flips the cloths around in a manner you'd think isn't cleaning them well. But the concept is that the water then has a MUCH higher concentration of cleaner in it. The cloths seem to come out clean after all, and it is so gentle that in the dryer there is WAY less lint in the trap and the cloths are noticeably softer. So far so good, had mine for a couple of months now.

- Answer Yes, I washed my kind sized comforter with no problems. Being that the washer doesn't have a big agitator to contend with, just loading the comforter in was a breeze. Before the machine starts it does this "thing" where it spins one way and then the other. I believe it's weighing the load (because it does it every time) and tends to balance it at that time, too. I'd recommend this washer to anyone. It's pretty, too.

- Answer With Whirlpool, if the lid goes to the edge it is a direct drive, if it is recessed it is belt driven.

QuestionDoes anyone know if the wash plate on this model should be bolted down? Mine has popped off and broke twice in two years. Best Buy installed but there was never a bolt put in, should there have been? Thank you.

- Answer you put the powder in the empty washer basin, and then you load in your clothes. so the powder is underneath what gets washed

QuestionTried out my machine for the first time. The drum looked off center before I loaded laundry. I added the dirty clothes anyway and the controls read OFB. I have tried shifting the clothes. Nothing seems to work. Do I need to have it serviced? help!!!

- Answer Cory, We had this same issue with our new washer. Ours ended up needing a new motor and tub as they became separated and stripped. Whirlpool helped me set up a service call and was taken care of in 4 days.

- Answer Yes, you can use the Drain and Spin setting to eliminate the water from the built in faucet and start the wash over again. I love the built in faucet, one of the reasons I bought this Model.
