• The cook top under the grates is painted black. The grates themselves are very heavy and made of black iron. The grates are not painted like the stove top. I just used the stove finally this past weekend and it works amazing well. The burner sizes make a big difference when it pertains to what size pot/pan you are using. I haven't used the oven yet but I am sure it works just as awesome as the stove top.
