The high efficiency means that it uses less energy to do the job that it does. I have replaced all my appliances in this house including central air and furnace and have noticed remarkable energy consumption in my electric and gas bills compared to previous years in this house. Electric bulbs are also high efficiency and the October bill was only $123 from Duke. We have lived here since 1985 and had winter bills average 350-500 dollars so high efficiency means money saver. Kitchen appliances are Frigidaire and Bosch. The air and heating is Amana with Trane giving good service for years. Washers and Dryers over time were Speed Queen, Whirlpool, and Samsung.
