Theoretically you could use a chimney or skylight instead. Air conditioning requires the hot air be vented outside. That could either be through ducting, chimney, window vent, or building a wall vent (like for a clothes dryer) For areas that are not humid, you could use a swamp cooler to cool down. That does not require venting.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There must an exhaust for the heat, without one you would simply be burning energy... It would be like leaving a fridge door open to cool a room, since there is also a heat exchanger giving off heat the net temperature change would only rise due to the fact that nothing runs 100% efficient. Probably the best solution is to cut a hole in the ceiling, since hot air rises this would be the best way to expel the heat and allow your cooling unit to operate most efficiently (think of AC units on the roofs of buildings).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm told you can vent through you air vent leading to your basement, providing you have one.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If I could have found one I would have purchased it myself but had absolutely no success on many internet searches.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It actually cool off your room without venting through a window. However, still hot air exhaust from the machine and some portion of area behind the machine will become warm/hot. Other machines? I am not sure
