No, it's not an evaporative cooler. You may have to drain it, however. The user manual is available on the manufacturer website https://www.whynter.com/product/whynter-eco-friendly-12000-btu-dual-hose-portable-air-conditioner/

Absolutely not! This is an air conditioner, not an evaporative cooler. In fact, there’s a drain plug at the bottom of the unit’s back that must be periodically drained of any condensation build up, depending on the outside humidity. Letting the water accumulate will eventually prevent the unit from functioning.
