QuestionCan I keep my window screen in when I install ?

- Answer I kept my window screen in. Mind you the screen causes a little heat crossover but it still works fine. If you wanted to eliminate all heat crossover you could add a spacer between them that would fit up really close to the screen. You would have to glue or screw it on. Of course, you can totally redesign the whole window piece that holds the hoses to be better as well. It is very minimalistic.

QuestionVery interested in this unit, but have a question. I want to use this in a basement, and the window is about 3 feet above the top of this AC unit. I believe the hoses are 5’ long, so I think they should reach. Any problem venting overhead? Thank you

QuestionA typical house voltage supply is 110 V, It says in the specifications it uses 115V. Does it mean i need to make an outlet with 115 V for this airconditioner?

QuestionDoes this unit have an upper drain port for continuous draining? Or just the evaporative / tank with bottom drain port?

- Answer The model does not feature an upper drain port. It utilizes the patented auto drain technology which exhausts condensation automatically in most environments where the humidity is less than 70%. If the humidity at the location is higher, the auto drain or self-evaporative function, can still exhaust the majority of the moisture. The remaining moisture will be collected in the base of the air conditioner and may need to be drained periodically. - Answer Sounds like the carbon filter needs to be removed or replaced. It is an optional filter. The washable prefilter should be cleaned regularly as well. QuestionIs this unit fully self evaporating?

- Answer I've only been using this for a couple of months but I think the humidity has been high enough to give it a fair test. So far, it has not had an issue evaporating all the condensation. I base this solely on the fact it has not alarmed nor has it leaked onto the floor. I did pull the drain plug one time with no discharge but where I have this makes it hard to check often.

- Answer This is probably not advisable unless you know that you chimney is spotless. On top if that, it will not be very efficient as the whole point of the hoses is to exhaust hot air and bring in cool air to blow over the condenser. Your chimney is too far for the air to travel to exhaust and take in fresh air. It will end up just recirculating the same hot sooty air, not cooling properly and eventually plugging the condenser with soot. Any window or door could be adapted to accept the hoses.

- Answer Running without the hoses will cause the exhaust port to introduce extremely hot/humid air back into the area your trying to cool. Doing so will totally defeat the cooling process and the chore of not having to empty a drain pan.

QuestionWith the minimum 20 inch width, does it keep both holes open at 20 inches? My windows are 30 inches wide. Am I going to have a problem with the closest of the two holes being closed when installing the window unit?

  The 20" width is the width of the panel with the hose cut outs. Since your window is slightly larger, you will most likely need to cut one of the solid panels to accommodate your window.

QuestionWe are looking to use a window, that is partially covered by a bed headboard, and wrap the hoses around the headboard to reach the AC unite. How far away from the wall do we need to pull out the bed?

- Answer The hoses are rather large, 5.5" in diameter...I placed a quarter on the hose connector to show scale. ...I had an acrylic piece custom made for my window for it... doesn't come with.

- Answer It is approx. 20" x 6.5". It does appear that it could be cut down to about 15" without issue.
