Hello Valued customer, Thank you for your question. This unit gets no power, it is an accessory to a blower/vac/mulcher. The system is designed to fit most major blower/vac brands, both gas and electric up to a 5" diameter tube opening. Thank you for choosing WORX!

It is neither. It hooks up to your blower vac and the force of the blower vac sends the leaves to the container.
