Depends on the length of extension cord, I generally use a 12 gauge cord to be safe.

Look for an extension cord rated for Outdoor Use and make sure the gauge of the cord is appropriate for the length you’re using. The WG305.1 is an 8A tool, so check for gauge and length on the grid owner’s manual for complete safety instructions and details. For example if the cord is 25 ft. we recommend no more than a 18 gauge cord, 50 ft. would be 16 gauge, 100 ft. would be 14 gauge, and 150 ft. Would be 12 gauge. Thank you for choosing WORX!

The type of extension cord used with the WG305 WORX - WG305 8 Amp 14" Electric Chainsaw - Black will depend on the length of cord you will be using. Remember never to "daisy chain" your extension cords. Always buy a cord long enough to reach the farthest place you will be using your chainsaw. The WG305 is an 8 amp tool so -- Cord lengths and gauges -- 25ft. cord use 18 gauge, 50ft cord use 16 gauge, 100ft cord use 14 gauge and 150ft cord use12 gauge. --GraceJ
