Q: Questiondo these come with a 3.5 mm plug and are they compatable with pcs

• A:Answer I don't own these but my assumption would be no... instead you would need a receiver or a DAC/Amp. You would connect the PC to the DAC/Amp or Receiver via USB. Then you would connect the DAC/Amp to the speakers using regular speaker wire. This would be a better set up than any computer speakers available.

• A:Answer To be honest Best Buy does not sell a GOOD option for brackets for these speakers. I bought the largest brackets they sell, the Sanus WMS2, and they BARELY work. So, while you could use the WMS2, I would recommend looking elsewhere. The pictures do not do justice how big these bookshelf speakers are.

Q: QuestionI bought a Yamaha CD-C600 5-Disc player. I take it, that I need a receiver hooked up to the CD player to hear anything. But, do I also need speakers? You can tell I am out of my element, but I am trying to learn.

• A:Answer jmac, yes you will need some sort of amplifier to power the speakers. You will likely also need some kind of pre-amplifier to control volume and select input (CD Player). If you buy a receiver, they have amplifier and pre-amplifier in one unit, so this is often the most cost effective way to go. If you do not plan on upgrading to surround sound in the future, I recommend purchasing a stereo receiver like the Yamaha R-S202BL. Surround sound receivers are a bit more complex to configure so if you aren't going to get surround sound you might want to keep it simple. Hope this helps.

Q: Questionwhich ohms is correct?one site lists them @ 8 ohms, another 6 ohms, label on speaker is 8 ohms; actual stamp on woofer shows 6.5 ohms, midrange & tweeter are stamped 7 ohms! So, what are they really; my receiver delivers different wattage according to the resistance!

• A:Answer Must consider the crossover network as part of the speaker system, which typically has induction coils, capacitors, and resistors. Generally speaking, your amp should run OK if your speaker system is rated between 4 to 8 ohms (4 is usual for cars and 8 is usual for home). Car amp is low voltage and will run hot if you pile too much load on it.

• A:Answer Dimensions for NS-6940: 16-3/16" T, 10-1/2" W, & 13" D with front cover. 11-15/16" D w/o cover. Bought this expecting banana plug terminals because it said "banana plug ready" but it just has spring bare wire clamps, anyway you can still jam banana plugs into those which is what I did. Those will add another inch to the overall depth on the back side as well.
