QuestionI have Yamaha 400W RX-V485BL receiver with 5 speakers: 2 pioneer SP=FS 52(130W input power each), 1 Yamaha NS-AC 40X(140W music/70W nominal), & 2 Atlantic 154 SR(10-120W each), any issue to add this Yamaha 8" 50W Powered Sub-woofer to the 400W receiver?

- Answer You should have no problem after you locate your receiver’s input bank, and subwoofer input port. I’m like you with my family room system (really big TV): I pump audio from any source to 13 speakers and 2 powered subwoofers through a flagship Denon. Your 400w should deliver just fine, especially with power from your subwoofer pulling up the audio it processes. Good luck and have fun! Brian in Colorado

QuestionI don't have much room for this. The port will basically be right up against a wall. What are the consequences of that sound wise or vent wise?

- Answer The port needs room to breath, right up next to the wall will greatly diminish your sound. The manual shows the best position is angled in towards the listening area, not straight forward.

Question50 watts doesn't seem like much power. Is it enough for a good size loft?

- Answer Don't know what you mean by a good size loft. I have it in a 15X15 Bedroom and it adds more than enough bottom end! Very happy with it's performance.

- Answer No. It must be connected by an RCA jack cable. I Have a YAS 109 and this sub works great with it.

QuestionSince there is no selector to select the crossover frequency, I assume it is a fixed frequency......does anyone know what that is as it is not specified in the literature.

- Answer Your receiver is what conrols the point at which the bass information is sent to the sub - the crossover frequency - when the sub kicks in. My Denon AVR sets the crossover frequency for each group of speakers - fronts, center, surrounds & back surrounds.

- Answer No, this Sub ia intended to go with a home theater or surrou d sound system or even a stereo system. It is way to big for a laptop!
