Q: Questioni dont see where this model has blue tooth , i love finding a song from u tube on my cell hpone add it tomy play list and listen to the song off my stereo but naturally this requires bluetooth???

Q: QuestionYamaha said this model was not getting released until January. Is this that model, just Best Buy had access to it sooner, or is a different version getting released in Jan 2021. Also I see best buy adds BL at the end of their sku.

Q: QuestionWhat is the app that the V6A uses? Is it compatible with the basic Yamaha AV receiver app used for previous receivers or does is require another app.

• A:Answer The manual explicitly lists the MusicCast and AV Setup apps. I've used both. None of their other apps are listed as compatible in the manual and the 6A is not listed as compatible in the documentation of the other apps. I have not yet tried the AV Controller app myself, so I don't know if it really doesn't work or if the documentation simply hasn't been updated.

Q: QuestionIf I turn the receiver on before the TV, the audio comes through the TV speakers. If I turn the TV on first, the audio comes through the speakers connected to the receiver as expected. Anyone seen this or known how to fix so it always uses AV speakers?

• A:Answer I'll answer my own question in case it helps anyone else. I actually contacted Yamaha support and the issue I had was that the HDMI Control (under HDMI in the settings menu) was set to on - note: what I was experiencing is not technically an issue and is how it is intended to work, but results may vary with different setups. When the setting is on it auto-detects information from the HDMI signal and so having the TV on was affecting that in some capacity; I'm not sure how own why, but nonetheless it was. Turning it off results in the audio coming through the TV speakers if the receiver is off and the receiver connected speakers if the receiver is on which suits my needs.

Q: QuestionI know this will have the ability to support 2.1 with VRR But will this be all I need if my tv doesn't support 2.1? If my tv has a 120hz display but just not hdmi 2.1 will the receiver be enough to work with the next gen game systems? Tv does have earc.

• A:Answer Two parts to this question; 1) HDMI 2.0 doesn’t support 4K @ 120hz, so that maximum won’t be possible. You can theoretically get something like 1440p @ 120hz over HDMI 2.0. 2) If your TV supports VRR, you should be able to use it all the way up to what HDMI 2.0 supports.

• A:Answer Yes it has a 2nd zone and you will need a impedance matching speaker selector to connect 4 pairs of speakers. I would get one with volumes controls so you can adjust each room if needed.

Q: QuestionMusic audio when using any streaming service - Amazon/Google play music or chromecasted/bluetooth content with sound is cutting out every five seconds. It's maddening and unlistenable. Tv thru You Tube TV is fine. Any ideas ? Firmware version 1.23.

• A:Answer Have had this unit for 4 days. It cranks up pretty good with a 5.2 speaker group and two powered subs. It's already received two firmware updates and while these receivers still look dated it's better then most and the remote well isn't the greatest but none of them are. Wish irhe remote had seperate bass/sub/treble adjustments but all and all very happy with the unit. I like bone crushing loud music and this gets it done with sports / movies / whatever.
