Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it doesn’t have an auto sleep/wake function, but it does have a shortcut key you can press to put your ipad to sleep before you close it and a simple tap on the screen when you open it will wake it up. The shortcut key is on the top row of the keyboard, 4th key from the left, it has a tiny lock on it. See image. Alternatively, you can push the lock button on the left side of the ipad (left when in landscape mode, top when in portrait) to put it to sleep before you close, or if you do nothing, the ipad will sleep automatically at whatever time limit you have set on your ipad (2, 5, 10, or 15 minutes). To change this, go to Settings, Display & Brightness, scroll down to auto-lock.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The keyboard will turn itself off after a period of inactivity regardless of whether the cover is open or closed. To wake it, you push and hold the power button on the keyboard until a green light flashes. You can also turn off the keyboard by pressing the power button until you see a red light flash.
