QuestionHow does this open/stay open? Is it hinged like a laptop or does it have something that keeps it open like a Surface? I had two Zagg slim books but the hinges for the "kickstand" keep breaking. I need something more durable to use on my lap, on flites

- Answer It is magnetically held in place for easy removal. The screen and key board open like a book. This will loosen after a little use, so don't worry about it breaking.

- Answer yes it does however the way this is design you might crack your ipad screen (as it did mine) at the area where the keyboard folds into the ipad. At the fold is where this product weakness is. overall good product.

QuestionDoes it fit the iPad 8th Generation? And is this similar to the solid case that I had with my 5th gen iPad? The hinge did not break as much as it shrieked horribly when it was opened and could no longer support the iPad top. And I loved that case.
