It is very power and light to use. Has many great attachments and is very easy to empty. This is my second Dyson vacum and I can’t say enough good things about them. Wish price was lower and battery power greater, but overall a great vacum.

Well made but expensive hand vac

Nifty and stylish little vac, not too heavy or bulky, well designed, smooth and sucks OK but gosh darn it, they charge you enough for the privilege of owning it, too. The attachments are numerous and, surprise, also overpriced. However, they are cleverly designed and different enough from your run-of-the-mill variety that, with a little picking and choosing, you can have a pretty decent smorgasbord to tackle almost any job. Don't go overboard, though, because you could quite easily spend the cost of a new vac to equip yourself with every accessory. BTW, I got this vac on sale as I would never dream of paying $600. The one negative, besides the awful entry price, is the paltry battery life. I got the V6, rated and advertised at a 20 minute run time which I felt would be adequate for the small jobs I bought it for. Problem is the three floor attachments are motorized which is all very well until you realize they suck battery power like the north wind sucks away body heat. You get all of 6 minutes run time! As they say, read the small print - except as far as I know there is no small print so I'd call their advertising at least misleading. Having learned this it necessitated my buying the flat floor motor-less brush, a very nicely designed piece but, another $50!! The recommendation to buy is for those who have the budget and want something a little more stylish/exclusive than a Hoover, Shark or Bissel. However, I don't think the V6 offers any greater vacuuming efficiency than the lesser models out there so do your research and spend your $ wisely.

Great vacuum cleaner. I didn't know there were 2 modes: max mode for higher suction (battery lasts for only 6 minutes) and regular more (battery lasts for 20 minutes, maybe a little more). Both modes are excellent and clean like no other vacuum. The max mode is extraordinary! I've never seen so much dust being removed so fast. It is very light and can be easily used to clean stairs.

I love this vacuum! We have 2 non-shedding dogs who use a doggie door 24/7. We have sand, dirt and rock salt in our kitchen, living room (oriental rugs) and hallway daily. I keep the V6 Absolute charged each time I use it, so it is ready for daily vacuuming. The V6 is light weight and easy to use. As long as you keep it charged you won't be sorry!

Great vacuum according to my wife

If I had a choice, I would have gone with a less expensive brand. However, my wife insisted on buying a Dyson. It is a solid product. Don't get me wrong. But considering the price point, again I would have lived a few hundred dollars richer with a less shiny vacuum. Well, I guess if my wife is willing to not question my notebook choices then I shouldn't question her vacuum choices. Also, to give her credit, she has taken over vacuuming duties since we got this one. Ok, enough ranting. Pros: The hand held design provides convenience. The battery powered design provides portability. The large selection of attachments makes it easy to use the vacuum in pretty much any situation. The design stands out., Cons: Price point is high. The dust bin is small. Runs for about 15-20 minutes on a charge. It is still a bit heavy.

We have a traditional (Dyson) vacuum and don't even use it anymore now that the V6 is in the house. The suction is more than sufficient to pick up any debris and swapping attachments is a snap. I bought a V8 absolute for my mom and would go that route if money is not a factor, but I can't justify the premium (which is currently a little over $210). I'm giving 4 stars because of two big Cons (these issues and some other minor differences are addressed in the V8 model): -The dirt bin is a pain to clean out on the V6 model. You have to reach you hand and fingers up inside the cylinder pretty much every time you empty the bin as debris gets wrapped around the center filter (especially hair as I have 2 girls and 2 cats in the house). -The battery is short-lived if you use the power attachments (which I was aware of) BUT there is not a battery level indicator or (good) warning system. The unit will go from full power to absolute zero power once it losses its charge and it takes several hours to charge back up. Overall this is a great alternative but you'll have to chip away at the cleaning if you intend to have this replace a traditional corded vacuum; if that is your plan spend the extra and go with the V8.

This Dyson is great. It has more suction on carpets and hardwood floors than any cord type vacuum we have ever had. It is light weight, easy to use and it recharges quite fast. It is worth the price and is always ready to go to work. It would make a extra great gift for any occasion and it will be used.

This is by far the best home purchase I've made for myself. I have an upright Dyson vacuum for my floors and I love it. But this cordless is amazing. The attachments are perfect for any quick clean up. We have a toddler and dogs (white sofas) and I LOVE the furniture attachment. It picks up every little hair the dog leaves behind! I can't stress that enough. This is great for vacuuming under cabinetry or furniture. If you're like me and want to vacuum whenever you see a crumb or anything on the floor this is PERFECT for you. I highly recommend this cordless vacuum, it makes clean up a breeze.

The Dyson V6 Ultimate Vacuum cleaner is very easy to use. It comes with lots of useful attachments and is so light and powerful. The only thing that would make it better is a longer battery life.

First the directions are so simple to follow a 12 year old could do it (but probably not a 10 year old). I have used this Dyson stick 3 times in the last week and I can't believe how light and how handy it is to move from floor to floor and to just do touch up work. I have never been one for getting out the vacuum and cleaning up but I have a whole new attitude. I was concerned that I might have to install the wall mount in order to charge but this is not an issue at all. Simply remove the top component (of 3) and plug into wall just like you're charging your phone. The only negative is that I'm not sure when to use which attachment so I'm keeping the box it came in handy until I've got it. Still not sure when to use the mini-motorized tool unless it's just for small spaces.

I love my new dyson! I live in a 1300 sq ft townhouse with a very heavy shedding dog, and this vacuum is prefect for my home. I have enough time with the battery, although now I do find myself vacuuming a little very day because of the convenience. Therefore, I use the vacuum more as spot cleaning, than doing a weekly full house vacuum. I love how I can use the fluffy head on my hard wood floor and the regular head on my carpet. The vacuum is very light weight, easy to maneuver, no cords to worry about, easy to clean out and the suction is great. Some things I don't love about the vacuum is fluffy head. I feel it does not have a great a suction as the regular head and the swivel is so flexible that sometimes the vacuum veers of course unless you utilize more strength.

I bought this vacuum as a gift for my wife. I know, not a very "cool" gift... But, I did my homework on it and it came in highly rated. The downsides didn't deter me, but all the reviewers were pretty accurate. Limited run time and the dust bin is a little difficult to empty when dust sticks to one of the media filters. Battery lasts plenty to vacuum a room or two at a time, definitely not appropriate to use to vacuum your whole house in one shot if you live in 1500 square feet or more... Powerful suction, surprising powerful actually. Out sucks our plug in vacuum, and it's been a good addition to our Roomba...

    Dyson v6 Absolute

Great suction when in power mode. Sufficient suction when in normal mode for basic cleanup tasks day-to-day. Much easier and manuverable at things like stairs than a full-size upright. Fuzzy bare floor motorized head is great at cleaning up small solid debris and dust on hardwood, tile, etc. Battery life on power mode is short (~6 mins). Takes 3 hrs to charge. Plastic wall dock only holds 2 other attachments, so you need another place to store all the other attachments. Battery compartment is sealed. Dyson would be smart to create a removable battery pack (similar to cordless drills) to allow for rotation and always have a fresh battery available. As a main vacuum, it might be lacking in all but an apartment/condo scenario. Great as secondary to a main vac.

This is my second purchase of a Dyson cordless vacuum, and I would buy another one in a heartbeat (if I had to). My previous Dyson was the simplest handheld version without any special attachments; plus, after 5 years of use, the battery was not performing well anymore and the turbo mode "MAX" button somehow got stuck. Even though, I was mightily pleased with all the use I got out of it. Enter Dyson V6 Absolute: - Very easy to vacuum any type of floor due to its long tube - Highly maneuverable mechanized heads (one for carpet and one for hard floors) - Almost 20 minutes of continuous vacuuming - Lightweight - Powerful suction - Cordless design allows you to use it with a moment's notice anywhere in the apartment / house - Very good at picking up any sized dirt particles, pet hair from both carpet and hard floor - BEST OF ALL: You get to see how much dirt you are collecting in real time!!! (the dust collection compartment is transparent) You might be surprised how much dust is hiding in your carpet... The only downside I suspect is that the mechanized heads and the pivot could be damaged if you bump them too hard on an obstacle. It hasn't happened me, but they are plastic, so who knows... Also, the battery (like any battery) will eventually fail to hold a charge, but my previous Dyson's battery worked very well for 5 years, so I am hopeful about this one as well. Besides, a replacement battery is probably available directly from Dyson, so it may be a non-issue.

This is my second dyson. After purchasing the first it was so easy to use that I purchased another one for convenience of not having to wait on recharge. I could never finish vacuuming without batter discharge. I LOVE the convenience, power, and attachments. These machines take the dread out of vacuuming. Pricey but you won't be sorry.
