Superb speaker. use it out side with my laptop when streaming movies. Great sound; compact.

This is the third brand of blue tooth speaker I've tried with my iOS devices. This one easily connects, and stays connected, unlike my previous experiences with Bose or Jambox. The sound and style is just another perk! Amazing product!

This was a birthday gift for my son and he absolutely loves it. He uses it everyday as he pairs it with his Echo Dot! Our best friend had one and highly recommended it to me. Needless to say it was a big hit!

I wanted to get a portable travel speaker in addition to my home Sonos setup. Googling for ratings and reviews, I came up with UE Boom 2, JBL Charge 3 and Bose SoundLink Mini II as the frontrunners from nearly all reviewers. All 3 of these have very high ratings on Amazon both in the US and the UK, so the choice likely comes down to personal preferences. I decided against the Bose since it can’t pair with a second speaker for a stereo setup, is slightly older, doesn’t look as attractive (quite a dated look in fact) and the sound quality reviews do not put it above the other two. Then I couldn’t decide between the UE and JBL, so purchased both. I compared them side-by-side for a week with the following observations: 1) Batteries on both last for a ridiculously long time. Yes, JBL lasts longer, but the 15 hour battery on UE is a week of regular use. What other electronics do you charge so rarely? 2) Both speakers are very loud. Assuming you’re not hosting an actual dance party, it would be surprising for either to run out of volume. JBL stays composed all the way to the max, maybe keep UE one notch above the very max on the bass-heavy songs. 3) UE has crisper high and mid frequencies, while JBL has a deeper, bigger bass. It took me a week to decide that this constitutes a tie for me, but most people would likely prefer the bigger bass of the JBL. Also, UE gives you the 360 sound, which is quite neat: you can put it in the middle of the room rather than against a wall. This could work as an effective sound multiplier since you reduce the distance to people if using it in a group. I compared both to a single Sonos 1 speaker (much heavier and non-portable), and Sonos is significantly better across the entire frequency range than either UE or JBL. This is not to say that that UE or JBL produce low quality sound: they both sound surprisingly good for their size. My point is that we shouldn’t obsess with the sound quality comparison between the two because neither is close to being a reference sound device. 4) Size is important here. JBL is over 50% larger than the UE, which makes a huge difference. Please see the photos: the JBL is longer, wider and heavier than the UE. This was the main factor in declaring UE the winner by a good margin. The speakers are roughly tied before the size comes into play, and the UE is just a lot smaller. I am simply more likely to take it with me when travelling. 5) Other features. Both speakers are waterproof. Charge 3 will charge your phone, which is not exactly useless, but probably not a deciding feature. UE feels much sleeker design-wise, with fewer buttons and better symmetry. To summarize: JBL Charge 3 is a great speaker, worthy of a 5 star rating. However, for my preferences, UE Boom 2 was the clear winner given its much more compact size and neater design due to them being close to tied in other areas, including sound quality.

Worked great with our iPhones. One of the best Bluetooth speakers I've used. Compact package, well-built, and waterproof. Only complaint was sound quality drops off a lot at max volume. This happens with most sound systems, so it's not a big complaint there. It's gets fairly loud for its size so you probably won't need to go at max volume much anyway. It's not a great option if you have a noisy environment. Not enough watts to overpower a lot of ambient noise or fill a large room. For home or small office use, or maybe poolside it should be more than adequate. Docked it one star only because of the price. It's really too much for what it is. Only worth it if you can find it on sale at around $100 or less.

Before I purchased my UE Boom 2, I made sure to do my research. I have to say that everything I read about it was spot-on. First, the sound for the size is awesome. Wherever I use it, whether indoors or outdoors, the sound is full and clear at any volume. The companion app is well made and required for full functionality. The app gives you the options to update firmware, change EQ settings, connect with another UE Boom or Roll and even give your Boom 2 a name of it's own. The build is of high quality, using durable materials that also make it waterproof (3 feet for up to 30 minutes). The Boom 2 can even be used to take calls as it has an answer button and a built in mic. Battery life is also great, although a full recharge does last a few hours. Overall, I am very satisfied with my UE Boom 2 and highly recommend it to anyone shopping for a bluetooth speaker.

Wanted to buy Bose Mini 2, after hours on Youtube Review videos and reading online reviews............Boom 2 had it all for me......from 3 feet of water/30 min......being buried in mud and rinsed....takes no room on night stand......360 sound and bass almost as good as Bose........( which never goes on sale) I bought UE Boom2 on sale at Best Buy and damm I was impressed when I got her home...............also color options were cool.......also I bought UE Roll for the shower..another awesome UE

The UE Boom 2 portable speakers are great for those who like listening to music anywhere. They have great sound quality, plenty of volume, and are as the name says, very portable. They are also easy to operate either in hand or from your Bluetooth paired device. Being rechargeable is another great feature, no need to buy expensive batteries every time you use them. You can pair 150+ of them together, however 1 is enough to fill an average size room with great sound.

WOW! I was looking for a new speaker to replace my Pill Pill XL that has been recalled. I researched quite a few different speakers. Of course the deal breaker was when we visited Best Buy and the employee found one we could listen to. WOW!!! Perfect clear loud sound in a small size. It's amazing. Plus it is near destructible. It is water proof and drop proof. What more can you ask for???

Bluetooth speaker brand focus on different features and capabilities. I would say the Bose speakers have much better sound quality, but their aluminum construction (Bose Soundlink Mini) is fragile. JBL makes solid speakers as well and balance sound with moderate durability. The UE Boom line is HIGHLY durable, waterproof and floats in water, and typically very loud. I find this to be a great, portable speaker and I own two so I pair them up!

The UE Boom 2 is a great little speaker. It's rich and full-bodied like a fine red wine with crisp highs and mellow lows that have no business on a speaker this size. The battery lasts for 13+ hours, it has a range of 75 feet, it's waterproof, and if you want to splurge and buy two, you can pair them for true stereoscopic sound. Don't fall for the Beats and Bose BS. They're junk. Go with he Boom.

I expected a lot for a speaker this price, and even bought it's chief competitor, the BQ$E model which is similarly priced, to compare them in my home side by side. In my opinion, while the B*** had remarkable bass, I found the clarity suffered in both the mid and high range, much as though it had a towel thrown on it. The UE offered outstanding clarity, smooth and clean bass, and accuracy of reproduction ( is that a trumpet or a sax?) throughout the audio spectrum of low, mid, and high range frequencies. I genuinely enjoy listening to music played through it, and returned the other speaker immediately. In addition, it is waterproof and sturdily built, has a long battery life (depends hugely on the volume level you use), and is easy to use. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality bluetooth speaker at a reasonable price, often on sale of some sort. I was not disappointed.
