These I feel like are not the lightest headset or the best sounding, but the selling point is the mix amp. Think they are a little over priced compared to other headsets offering mix amps. But these will defiantly last and do what are promised!

This is just an amazing headset to own and a must have for gamers. Yes I had my doubts about buying it because of the price but glad I did. You hear so much more and realize that there are sounds there that you never heard before it the game. Its so comfy that you don't realize it on your head anymore. the cords they give you are long enough that you don't need to buy longer ones. The control they give you to on the headset to customize it is amazing. A must own for anyone

I bought this headset because I wanted something wired; my Playstation Gold Headset was getting interference from my router. This headset, albeit a bit pricey, is great sounding, and the 7.1 channel surround sound is great. The ear cups are comfy, but be weary if you had a big head; I don't quite have the biggest head, but I did need to extend the ear cups down quite a bit. The mic is a great feature of the headset; sounds very clear, and the audio even mixes in some of your voice into the headset, which I like. The only thing I don't like about this headset so far is that the audio doesn't get too loud. Loud enough to hear your surroundings in-game and find where gunshots are coming from? Yes; but not obnoxiously loud. Which might be a good thing? Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase; if Best Buy offered it without the MixAmp Pro, I think it would be the best headset for its price. But even with the MixAmp Pro, it's worth its value.

These headphones are very good quality. The bass reproduction is strong/deep. The mids and highs are also very clear. It seems to be made of good construction and I love the included mix amp. With all of that said though, I believe that the addons from the "mod kit" should be included in the base kit, and I really feel that reducing the price to $200 would be more appropriate/ competitive.

For years I only had wireless headaets. But they always had some issues that I put up with and I got tired of it so I decided to switch to a wired headset and I absolutely love it. Being wired is not as bad as I thought as you can connect to the controller and I just take the controller with me when I walk around. I'm very impressed with the range. I can walk around the entire lower level of my house for most the areas and still stay clear and connected, which is fantastic. The sound quality is absolutely fantastic and people say I sound better on the mic. I used to have different turtle beaches and they all had problems as they were wireless but I have not had issues with this one. I have always heard that wired technology was more stable and I absolutely agree. I'm deathly sold on wired going forward. The sound quality is amazing I can hear footsteps and bugs chirping. I can hear everything in the game. It's a great headset for PvP.

I originally bought the Astro A50's and was having a ton of connection issues. My brother at one point during a match said I sounded like a robot. So I returned those and bought the Astro A40 TR's w/ the mix-amp. They're absolutely amazing. The sound is just as good as the A50's and no connection issues or me sounding like a robot.

I bought a set of A40's, to replace my A50's that I've had for about 2 years, as the battery life was getting really short, and I didn't like having to plug the thing in all the time. I decided to get A40's and save a little bit of money, and not have to worry about charging my headset anymore. The headset itself is great. What I expected as a previous Astro owner. If you are looking to buy a premium headset with top notch build quality, sound quality, and comfort, then look no further. My only complaint is that the noise cancellation features in the mic sometimes make my voice cut out. It obviously doesn't bother me, but sometimes I have to repeat myself to people I'm playing with. This is a widely known issue with these headsets and there are articles and forums all over the internet regarding the problem. Lastly, I do wish I had bought A50's again. I really miss having a wireless headset, as it's annoying to always have these cords all over the place, and always having to be plugged in. My next headset will likely be A50's again.

I picked this up when they were running a sale for $50 bucks off. I’ve used lots of headsets over the years. Currently own a set of Turtle Beach and the Sony Gold’s and have purchased many gaming headsets throughout the years. This headset has great options and is easy to set up. I currently use it with my PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Works great with older systems as well. Pros -Very comfortable -Durable -Mix amp gives many options -Optical cable is optional but pretty much required for true surround sound. -Long Cables -Streaming Friendly Cons -Cost might be a bit much for many people

Got it for my son, even though it was more expensive. Great sound, better than my JBL's and a lot sturdier than the other brands for gaming and PC's. Even I listen thru them from time to time. I figured after a month, it was worth it. Forget the cheaper brands and go with this one.

I love these headphones! I was replacing my AG9s and so far they are excellent. The sound quality is amazing and the mixer is pretty cool to customize how you wanna hear your game. The earmuffs are some of the most comfortable I have tried. I would reccomend!

I have tried many gaming headsets from turtle beach to Razer and this is by far the best. Perfect surround sound and extremely comfortable for those all day sessions. I bought the a50s and returned them for these, because the a50s was interfering with my wifi...

I'm in love with these headphones. Star Wars Battlefront sounds incredible and the additional amp settings really take the experience to a whole new level. I' an audio snob, so I've always preferred wired headphones to wireless/Bluetooth. It took a few sessions for them to feel comfortable on my head, so I wouldn't return them or leave a bad review after only one experience. I'm glad I didn't listen to some of those reviews. These will fit well on a big /adult-size head, and completely cover the biggest ears out there. I recommend these HPs.

I occasionally stream my games to YouTube and wanted a headset that I could easily connect to Elgato HD60 and have complete control over various sound aspects. Could not have expected anything more from this. Superb quality and with their software I can modify the equalizer to really suit whatever sounds I'd like to produce from it. I switched from Sony Gold headset and as good as that one is, A40 managed to pick up more game sounds and create a better Dolby surround experience.

Let me just start by saying this is my 3rd pair of Astro Headphones. I originally had a pair of first generation A50's which were great but, I decided to give them away because I was upgrading to the 3rd Generation Astro A50's. The 3rd Gen A50's came with many problems including connection problems and microphone problems. I had bought the GSP so I decided to exchange them to remedy the problem. They were good for about 6 months and I started getting the same problems again. Sick and Tired of it i decided to go with the wired A40 TR. Its the best thing I could have done. I no longer have any issues or have to worry about charging them. The A40 TR have excellent audio quality so long as you hook them up correctly and run the correct settings. They are very comfortable and the microphone has great clarity according to my friends. You can also purchase a mod kid to add noise cancelling to the headphones which i would recommend if you are in a noisy environment. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a great quality pair of headphones.

I have been gaming for years on Playstation. I have had numerous headsets over the years ranging from $100-$300. I am an avid call of duty player and play roughly 4-6 hours a day at the least. I bought this headset because I decided my last headset wasn't comfortable anymore. To keep this review short and sweet, here is what you need to know. It is the best headset in the following: comfortable, noise cancelling, sound quality, and customization. There is not one negative for this headset. I would buy it again if it cost $500

I was a turtle beach guy for awhile. That’s all I knew was TB and the last pair I purchased was the elite 800 and I had a bad experience and along with poor customer service from turtle beach I decided to try ASTRO. I couldn’t be happier with this headset even with the fact that it’s a wired headset and I typically hate wired. The quality and presentation from Astro is by far the best I’ve seen and used. The attention to detail is crazy I mean they even put graphics all over the box to make it more eye appealing!! You won’t regret it if you buy Astro....I didn’t

After my first week of use I am very happy with my purchase. The overall sound quality is great! The mic sounds really good and the headset is comfortable. My one complaint is sometimes changing the game and chat sound doesnt mix well all the time within applications.
