The only headset that has lasted the longest. The sound is great. Not a fan of the white as they get dirty pretty quick.

For the last 5 years, I used Turtle Beach XO Fours headphones for gaming. I had been thinking about upgrading for the longest, and finally settled on these when they went on sale. I am so happy I did! When I would wear the XO Fours for more than an hour, my ears would start to hurt. The first time I put the Astros on......I didn't even feel like I was wearing them. Hours later, still just as comfortable. The sound is amazing, and can be tweaked with the included MixAmp. It still can't replace true surround sound, but it sure comes close!

You could hear everything perfectly. You hear the guys upstairs and all around. It's basically like you're ears are in the game.

i recently purchased the A40's with the MixAmp Pro, it is worth the extra money to get the MixAmp and 7.1 sound. With awareness and deal silence on BO3, you're a killing machine. Wish you could hear your own voice when talking because it can be hard to hear yourself talk. Great headsets.

Headset is amazing. Used for my phone as well. You can adjust the equalizer for varies options. Headset is for hardcore gamers. Surround sound is a place for when watching movies late at night and doesn't want to make noise.

This is a great headset. The sound is amazing. I can hear sounds I haven't heard in games I have played for hours. They are very comfortable as well. I bought longer cable and ran them in my craw space and brought them up my couch. I have no wires on the floor. I love them.

As far as the headset itself goes, it's extrwmely comfortable, overall good sound, ideal highs, mids, and bass. Only issue is one of my own making, since they are open back. I can hear background conversations quite well, which can be distracting at times. However, that can be taken as a bonus if you don't like or want to have all background sound blocked out, like you would get with a closed back. As far as the amp goes, it is wonderful, definitely can tell a difference in sound with and without it. Having the ability to change the eq depending on the type of game I'm playing is extremely nice to have. Also, the option for virtual 7.1 surround is wonderful, it isn't super echoey like a lot of virtual surround makes it sound

this replaced a freebie headset that began failing. owned for a few months now. pros: * great quality * great sound * ability to jack-in an external sound source to mix in music while you play games. *comfortable for the amount of time i play. about 2 hours max at one sitting. cons: * mute button pops when activated/deactivated. *at first party chat sounded robotic/echoey and could not control party chat volume. found out that if i logged into my account first and then turned on the headset party chat worked properly vs having the headset on before i turned on the xbox.

Let me start off by saying that I have owned Astros in the past, including the 2013, and 2015 editions. Astros are known to be the Ferrari of headsets, from their lightweight, well crafted construction, all the way to the SRS audio. The only reason I gave this headset 4*, was because of the price. To drop $250 on a headset is not the first thing that comes to everyones mind when researching headsets. But as the only saying goes you get what you pay for, and yes you do. astro a40s sound great! these are not cheaply built at all, everything in the box is well crafted, nothing feels cheap. My favorite part of this headset is that everything Is now digital, you can actually customize the sound of each EQ to even more specific tuning. Also if your on Xbox one which is what this headset is for you no longer need a chat cord from the mix amp to the controller, its all digital and the xbox recognizes the headset and the mic works (NOTE: make sure your xbox is turned on before you turn on the headset, it seems as if the xbox doesn't "assign" the headset properly for the mic to work if you turn on the mixamp before powering on the xbox.) I recommend this headset to anyone willing to drop $250 for a premium headset.

These headsets have been such a game changer. Everything sounds so great much better than any other headset I have used, from turtle beach elite to hyper X. Pros: Great sound Comfortable Customizable Different volume presets Cons: Not a big fan of white after a year of use it has stained marks. I have had friends say my voice is different using the microphone on the headset. Which I have heard that Astros microphones are very good but otherwise they hear me loud and clear.

The best and most comfortable headset I’ve ever owned. You can play for hours in total comfort. Much better than the lesser priced brands and now I know why. If you’re a serious gamer then don’t ruin your fun with a cheap-o headset.

This headset is amazing. So many options to it and the sound is great. If you have the money and are thinking about it for a shooter like cod, its a prime asset. Lets you hear every little footstep and reload. Thought the price is high, so is the quality.

I used to own the wireless A50 Astro headset but after about a year they crapped out on me and I got these. I personally use them for PC gaming and they are comfortable for long gaming sessions, the sound quality is amazing which is what you'd expect from Astro so no complaints there. The main problem I had was finding the best sound settings between chat and game noise. Because even with the amp sometimes one will will be be much louder than the other and Astro offers no advice on how to set them whatsoever. They do require some tinkering to get what you want. So I recommend Youtube. But if you do find your ideal settings like I did you will love these as well.

While there is a very slight difference in quality almost unnoticeable the a40 has higher sound quality than the a50 however you have to the mixup plugged into the xbox which has 2 wires and than another wire for the headset plugged into the mix amp. 3 wires total and you need the actual mix amp close to you to change settings or volume. I ended up going with the a50s just for convenience of the wireless. If surround sound is not important than there is no need for the mixamp and just go with the one that plugged into controller for best value. Much better than turtle beach elite pro in my opinion the elite pro is comfortable for about 30 min and than gets hot while the Astros can go for hours.

Ok let me say this, I gave this company a chance when this headset was on sale for 185 took it home set it up, put the headset on and wow the most comfortable headset I've ever worn. You can play for hours without discomfort. So I'm playing online and ...guess what? You can't chat on the xbox it doesn't work. So I return it for another and guess what the chat doesn't work !! After speaking with email only customer service witch is completely unprofessional , and sending my headset in and waiting 3 weeks I can finally chat on my Xbox. I really gave this company a chance just because of how comfortable they are and the surround sound is awesome. So that's why the low rating thanks to customer service and bad quality control.

I have always bought the $20-$50 headsets only to be disappointed in their quality. Something would always go wrong with them and I would have to restart the cycle of looking for another headset. I have had this headset for over a year and haven't had any problems. The comfort of the headset is excellent with sound quality to match. When I got these they were $249 and I was hesitant to buy them. But now I am very satisfied with my purchase.

This headset was a Christmas gift for our son. He love, love, loves them! He says they are the most comfortable headset he has ever used. He loves the professional look and was the most excited for this present above all others.

The sound quality is great but there are so many wires needed to get that quality that I eventually unplugged the Surround sound controller and plugged straight in to my Xbox controller. Now it sounds just like a $70 set of headphones. They are very comfortable for long sessions on the Battlefield but not worth the money in my opinion. I should have gone wireless. To get the Surround sound, you need an optical cable (included) as well as a USB power cable(included) and then your headphone cable. Just too many wires lying around for me.

This headset sounds great! Sometimes.... the new TR series appears to have a bug in the mix amp that creates anew echoing effect. If you play around with the mix amp long enough you can temporarily fix it. Then these are great. I believe astro will fix the problem with a firmware update so I'm not worried.

I have purchased and returned many headsets. Some were ok but most didnt cut it. I did have the a50's and dont get me wrong solid headset. Only issue is the sound kept crackling after a bit. Think because they are wireless and gets interrupted by other signals. But after getting these there is no other. Sound is so clear. Bass is crisp and not too overwhelming. Little pricey but definitely worth it.
