I have been using a Razer Ouroboros for the better part of two years and while I did enjoy it this mouse in every way trumps it. Logitech has always had the most comfortable mice in my opinion. This mouse excels in the comfort department. As far as button placement its great for people with small and large hands. The only issue is the buttons used for DPI sensitivity, they are a bit hard to reach in a hurry.

I have had this mouse for a while now and i absolutely love it. I use it mainly on my desktop and it is super comfortable. It replaced my Deathadder when it died and it made me realize i should never get another razer mouse. Logitech all the way. 10/10. i would recommend the g303 if your'e looking for a portable mouse. They are essentially the same mouse with different housing.

This mouse if by far my favorite mouse that i have used, i use it for gaming and just casual web browsing. The braided wire is awesome and really durable. It comes with weights if you wish to add them for me personally i like the mouse with no weights.

I have used this mouse since it's release and it's been great. I do not need RGB lighting so when it was on sale the 30$ price tag was a steal. I use a hard mouse pad and after a year or so of use the feet started to see some hard wear and tear (replaced the feet with a $6 pair off of amazon; functions like brand new). Great for gaming.

I really like that the mouse fits perfectly and is really comfortable. Also, there are many buttons on the mouse and you can adjust its weight to your liking. Lastly, you can customize the RGB lighting on the mouse and the Logitech Gaming Software lets you customize your settings from different profiles, different mousepads, and more.

I had the G500s prior to getting this and while it is somewhat similar in terms of features it does feel like a different mouse.
Other than the standard buttons on a mouse, it has the DPI switching buttons near the left mouse button, a scrolling wheel switch that toggles between a free wheel or slow scroll, three thumb buttons with the third smaller button located between the two longer ones is by default used as a DPI shifting button. All of these buttons can be reprogrammed using the Logitech Gaming software and can also have multiple profiles assigned to various applications (yes, even none-gaming ones).
It is slightly smaller or shorter than the G500s, which feels better to me since I don't have big hands. It has a rubberized feel on the left and right sides where the thumb on one side and the ring and pinky fingers on the other side rests. The feel of the clicking on all buttons is pretty good. Only complaint is perhaps the placement of the thumb buttons do take some getting used to if you plan on using those buttons extensively. Otherwise, it feels pretty good overall.
Aesthetically, it might be a hit or miss considering that it does have a look of an alien ship, which may be a turn off to some people but didn't bother me personally. The LED lights are a neat addition and like the buttons can be reprogrammed per profile. It also comes with weights like its predecessor, the G500s, which can be placed in a compartment under the mouse.
Perfomance wise it is comparable to its predecessor and it does the job pretty well especially in games that require precision like first person shooters. Ofcourse, having programmable buttons also makes it pretty nice to place custom commands or macros if needed and being able to set-up per application profiles, makes it easier.
Great mouse and for the value I got it for during Black Friday it is overall a great buy,

I needed a new mouse since my 3 month old Razer Naga Trinity's left mouse button stopped working. Yes, you heard that right, after only 3 months my Trinity broke. After having many problems with Razer products myself, I made the switch. From what I kept reading Logitech seemed the way to go. Luckily, this mouse was on sale for 49.99. So far it was everything I was looking for. The weights are interesting although not a big deal to me. But having a button where your thumb rests that slows down mouse movement has proved very useful. The software is easy to setup and user friendly. If you are looking for a new mouse, check this one out. You won't be disappointed

History: I started using gaming mice in 2010 with a Razer Naga for playing World of Warcraft. I got a Razer Orochi for use on-the-go. The Naga broke, and was replaced with a G600. I stopped playing MMOs and that wasn't working well for other games, so I bought this G502 a few months ago, and recently a G700s for work, which I have tried for games too.
The G502 is the best balance of comfort, extra buttons, quality, and reliability I have seen. The buttons always work, the sensor matches my movements the way I want it to. Multiple profiles work wonderfully. The Logitech Gaming software does it's job. The cable is nice braided nylon, or some other fabric, that helps it be a bit more flexible and not tangle as easily as normal rubber. The included weights are a nice touch to get it just the way you want it.
The only con this mouse really has relates to the scrolling. The top middle button toggles between smooth scrolling and notched. This notched scrolling is a bit rough and loud, while smooth scrolling has so little resistance you can trigger it just by moving the mouse quickly. But it is easy enough to switch between the two that it isn't too big of an issue in an otherwise amazing mouse.

When my previous Logitech gaming mouse finally gave out, I knew I needed to pick up another Logitech mouse. The G502 Proteus Spectrum had what I was looking for. The anti-tangling braided cable reinforces the wires a bit and allows for better flexibility. The software is easy to use to program the extra buttons on the mouse. The adjustable weight system allows the user to add more weights for those that like a heavier mouse.
My only complaint is that the mouse wheel feels a little loose, but not enough to take off a star. The wheel action reads very well and scrolls smoothly. The switch from clicky feedback to free wheel helps when scrolling through long documents.

I looked for quite some time for a mouse to replace my old but reliable G5 mouse. I would have to say this is close. The software is much better than the old set point software. Only dislike is the mouse wheel. I would have liked it better if it was rubber coated. Extremely happy otherwise.

I was looking at upgrading to either a g903 or the g502 for a while now. I went to a store where they had both on display and realized the g903 side button locations are terrible if you have larger hands (you essentially have to reach backwards with your fingers to access them). I put the g502 in my hand and realized it was perfect. I have no problems accessing any of the buttons on the mouse and they all have a nice feel to them. The only thing I do not like about this mouse is the scroll wheel has a "wobble" to it. It has some give when pressing side to side since it has a left and right click with just the wheel. This was extremely frustrating for a while when first starting to use the mouse, but you get used to it and don't notice after a while. There are some tutorials online on how to minimize this wobble too (shouldn't be necessary for a mouse which costs this much I realize). Otherwise a fantastic mouse.

My trusty old HP mouse started getting buggy after years of use, and so I looked into getting a new one. My primary criteria were a precise mouse with a good scroll wheel, as I am an Engineering student and use CAD extensively. After quite a bit of research, I purchased this one from Logitech. This thing is amazing! The buttons all have tactile and audible feedback, It tracks without skipping directly on my desk, has highly adjustable DPI settings, including multiple DPI settings, as well as several cleverly placed buttons to assign frequently used key combinations to. If you have ever had that one project that required the same key combination and options over and over, simply hop into Logitech's gaming software, assign a macro to your preferred button in one of the on-board profiles on the mouse, and voila! Saves me so much time it's not even fair. Completely satisfied with this mouse, and would definitely buy it again. Even its weight and center of gravity can be tuned to your liking!

I'm using this mouse primarily for gaming. I like the extra long cord, the way it feels in my hand, and especially the way it looks. I also like the feature of adjusting the weight of the mouse. I figure the additional buttons and their position on the mouse is really about a personal preference (I tend to like less and buttons that fall in natural hand/finger placements).
The *only* thing that I find frustrating is the weight and feel of the scroll wheel. It's very chunky - both in the way it operates and in the way it feels against your finger. I don't have much use for the free-scroll feature but the clicks of the scroll could be much more subtle and the wheel itself could be less rigid (is it metal?).
It doesn't take that much away from the experience unless you are a scroll-wheel fanatic, I think you'd be happy with this device.

I needed a new mouse after the death of my Razer Naga. I did some research online before my purchase and saw this on a top 10 list for gaming mice in 2015. I'd say it definitely lives up to the hype! I love the fact that you can adjust the weight of the mouse at any point on the bottom. I found it just a little too light right out of the box. I also love the button configuration. I have the thumb buttons set to straife for my mmorpg. The reviews said it would be great for any type of gaming, and I agree. The mouse is very comfortable, so it's easy to move; it tracks on anything, so I've never had cursor or movement issues; and there are plenty of buttons for what I need without getting too complex and complicated. I highly reccomend this mouse to anyone who is serious about gaming.

I've been using this for a couple of months and I will have to say with gaming, it's a great mouse. the response time and DPI is phenomenal. Even the better is when it gives you weights to adjust the areas that you can either play or surf with great precision and play. The only issue I see with this game is the price... $80 seems pretty steep for the mouse. I would think that decent mouse like this would be a little bit cheaper, but I can't complain. For me it doesn't feel 100% solid, but it's getting there.

This review is based on a great price that I got this mouse for which was $30. (normally $79.99?)
I bought it online and the original G502 that was sent to me had a bad left button(doesn't register sometimes), and a creaky middle scroll speed changer button.
So I went to a store and did an even change for another, which also had a creaky middle scroll speed changer button.
Design and fit of this mouse is very good, however build quality is a bit questionable.
I've owned several Logitech mouses before and although they performed good for their model and price, they didn't last too long.
Lets see how long this will last...
I personally don't use all the buttons on this nice looking mouse, so I can't really comment on the functionality aspect, other than the fact that dpi and many other things are changeable through the software which is good and has adjustable weight.
Would I buy this at a normal price? definitely not.
However, it's definitely a great mouse for the price that I got and would recommend it at around the same price.

A bit difficult to get set up at first, but overall a very good gaming mouse. The optional weights let you customize the feel of the mouse, and the "dpi shift" button (as well as the two buttons that let you switch between four dpi settings per profile) make performing certain tasks far easier. Useful for both pixel-perfect editing and gaming. The only complaint I have is that initial setup of the dpi options is a little finicky.
