Wireless printing and auto duplex printing were high on my priority list. This printer has both. The 225-sheet input tray and auto document feeder are bonus. Set-up was quick and easy.

Had last printer for 11 years so many extra options werent available then. Right out of the box was super easy setup. Best feature I like is that I can print with my iPhone without any setup at all!

Really like the printer, compact, quiet, efficient. Enrolled in HP instant ink. Good program.
Printer died after 6 months of average daily home use, started mis feeding paper, then 2 weeks later, printhead went out. Unfortunately, I failed to purchase BB warranty, but HP warranty was still in effect (1 year).
On phone with HP tech support for over 2 hours trouble shooting before they agreed to replace.
Because enrolled in instant ink, they shipped a "refurbished" unit next day (instead if 5-7 days if not).
So far, this printer is working fine.

I had to replace my Photosmart printer after Hurricane Irma because of the power going in and out. HP no longer makes a Photosmart printer and I went with Offiejet Pro 6978. My only complaint is there is no separate tray for picture paper.

Not what I expected from HP

Very difficult to set up. Doesn't like 5 ghz band and the computer must be on the same band. But it doesn't like Windows 8.1. I really dislike subscriptions and 'forced' APPS. Using the app to install did not help nor register the product as HP claimed. It does seems to scan from glass well and running a folded 2 sided multi page document thru the feeder worked perfectly. Printing PDFs and excel files seems to work well, but printing color photos or Photoshop Elements projects is another story. Color is most often not what is seen on the screen and there is no way to adjust within the printer settings, so it becomes trial and error within the PSE program. I've not used it heavily so I'm not sure about the longevity of the printer. Definitely not what I expected from HP.

I purchased this printer because I was fed up with always having to buy ink for my previous inkjet printer. It seemed like whenever I wanted/needed to print something on my old printer, I was "out of ink", even though I know I hadn't printed even 50 pages on the current cartridges, only to have to go out and spend $50 on a new set.
With this instant-ink enabled printer, now I just pay a small monthly fee of $2.99. At that rate, I spend $36 per year and am able to print plenty of pages for that price.
The printer is a little noisy and does take a minute or so to warm up, but it's more than sufficient for my needs.

It was easy to setup and prints fast. Great replacement for the other HP 4 in one printer I had. It's also not as bulky as my other. Definitely love the slimmer and lightness.

Performs well and prints in good quality. Dual-sided scanning is fantastic and helps me maintain home records of key documents. Speed is slow, but better than earlier deskjet printers
