I've always purchased Jaybirds ever since the first version. To me, the average life-span of these earphones have been declining. The first one I've had over 2 years, the last one (jaybird x-3) only lasted 8 months. Luckily, the company will provide me with a new one (x-4 actually). Im hoping the X-4 will last.

Bought these headphones less than 2 weeks ago and its already shorting on one side. I've only used it casually and during weight training but the side that connects to the mic is slipping out. I have had the X2's before for 2 years with so such issue. Very unhappy about this.

(Almost) Perfect Wireless Earbuds

I've gone through many reviews and spent countless hours (exaggerated a bit) watching youtubers review this product along with many other competitor products such as the Beats X, Apple Airpods, Samsung Icon X etc. and in the end I chose the Jaybird X3 because the pros for the X3 outweighs the cons by a very large margin. Reminder that nothing is perfect but within the Wireless earbuds department, there is nothing closer to perfect than the X3.
Pro:
Battery life is always an issue with these wireless earbuds but with the X3, I've never really had to worry about batterylife as the X3 does as they say it would (8 hours). On a weekly basis, I'd really only have to charge it, maybe twice. I use it everytime I commute to work and I commute by using public transportation. It takes about 30 minutes to and 30 minutes from (totaling at 1 hour) and I work at least 5 days a week and usually by the end of the work week I would be left with 20% left. No problem. Just plug it in and your earbuds should be full in about an hour. A good addition is that everytime you turn it on, it tells you the current batterylife before connecting to any devices. The X3 also tells you when you have 20% left even if you are in the middle of streaming or lost with the music. Another plus.
Water Resistant is always a plus. I come from a city/state that is known for it's sudden change in weather. One day it can be bright, sunny and clear. Next day, rain, thunderstorm and or snow. I've never had to worry about getting my X3 wet as they would work just fine in any natural occurrences. Idk about natural disasters, I'm not willing to put my X3 or myself up to the test.
Connection works like a breeze. Connecting it for the first time is as simple as turning the X3 on, and connecting it to a bluetooth ENabled device. Everyother time after that, as long as the bluetooth on your device is on, the X3 will automatically connect when turned on. And it only automatically connects to devices that it has connected to before. Smart!
Meh/Can improve on
The wires are unnoticable but that is really only when it isn't in use and is dangling around your neck. I've had times that I forgot that it was even there and threw tantrums about losing something worth $130. But then when I realize that it is around my neck, I am once again reminded of how glad I am, that the X3 is wireless but wired to keep them from being lost, unlike the Airpods or Icon X. The negative is that moving your head around is limited to how long the wire is. There are times when I had to tilt my head or even turn my whole body to look at something: to avoid pulling the earbuds out of my ears. And then turn back to have to adjust the wires everytime so that one side isn't to tight and the other isn't too loose. But every now and then, when in use, I do in fact forget that the wires are there, until I have to turn my head...
Might just be my specific product but within the first few hours of unpacking it for the first time, one side of the earbud fell off so I had to go looking for it. This is why I try to avoid in-ear earbuds as the tip can fall off
and get lost without you noticing or come off and get lodged into your ear (never happened to me but one can never be too cautious). Just don't like having stuff jammed into my ear. Plus side is that the X3 comes with wingtips so you can adjust how far the tip of the earbud goes into your ear without worrying that it will fall out of your ear as the wingtips will keep the earbuds in place.
Sound does drop for a split second every now and then, when you cover the mic piece but it's not a big deal to me. Just something to note. Can be improved on.
Cons
The charging port is not standard and requires a unique plug in. Lose that, your X3 is worthless unless you find the plug in or get a new one. This is the main deal breaker and perhaps the only reason that I refrain from calling the X3 perfect. I've had many occasions in which I had to rummage through my bag, drawer, bed, clothing, just to find it. I would not have gotten the X3 if they didn't balance it out with it's great battery life. Something to take note, Jaybird. Main deal breaker for most
Idk
Not a sound expert/audiophile so long as I can listen to music for a long time, then I don't care about quality
Summary
The X3 is a bang for it's buck. Cheaper than most models. Long batterylife. Water resistant. Smooth connection. With most smartphone makers moving towards the idea of (truly) wireless, #RIP #Headphone #Jack #(Sorry to all the Jacks out there); the X3 is a 100% must have wireless earbud (only if you are careful not to lose the plug-in like I do every now and then). This is a win.

I was a bit hesitant to jump on the wireless headphone bandwagon since I have always used wired headphones on my workouts. These are perfect if you are a runner! I have experience little to no issue at all getting the perfect foam fit. The headphones never fall out while I am active. In addition, they sound great. Customer Service at Jaybird can be a bit slow at times, but I never experienced a technical issue with this item.

I purchased these based on the great track record Jaybird seems to have built up, being the third generation in their X line I jumped on the opportunity to purchase the X3 on release. They are simply the best wireless earphones by far that they actually beat most wired ones i've also used. The battery claims hold up and the connectivity is solid, the way it instantly pairs with everything I own that has bluetooth all at the same time on power on is fantastic and convenient. The Comply ear-tips have kept the buds in my ear for more than 3 hours at a time with great comfort and isolate an incredible amount of outside noise. The only thing I can potentially point out as a negative is the charging method with involves clicking the control unit located on the wire into a tiny usb powered dock. I was immediately annoyed by this but after a few days I can say thats its a perfectly good way to charge it and is actually more convenient than plugging in a micro usb cable as you can clip on the X3 charger with just one hand. Jaybird's MySound app is a great way of seeing exactly how much juice is left in the buds and the sound tuning possible with it is amazing. At the launch price of 129.99 these are much cheaper than any other Jaybird earphones at launch and are totally worth it. If you found my review helpful please mark it as so and thanks for reading.

Best Wireless Earbuds!

So, I've owned Jaybirds X Bluebuds and X2 and I have to say there was not a big jump from the first version to the second in sound quality or design. But the X3s are a significant improvement! To start, they're smaller so they fit more comfortably in my ear canal (may vary based on your ear), which means less to know fatigue. Secondly, the sound quality is excellent! It's a little bass boosted but even at a flat EQ setting, the mids are not muddy, but full and the highs are clean. Lastly, the My Jaybird My Sound app is a game changer! You can truly fine tune these earbuds to the exact sound profile that want. In addition, you can choose pre-defined ones my athletes and other users. My only gripe is that a small cradle is needed to charge the buds (connected to micro-USB), but with over 8 hours of batter life, you won't be charging up that much. It even has fast charging with 15-20 min will garner you an hour of listening. I love these! I would try truly wireless buds, but they're still too expensive for nominal battery life and sound quality. I'm going to wait another year or two for tech to improve. Thanks for reading!

Video Notes:
Jaybird x3
It took me a long time to get over the concept of ear fins.
On my search for Bluetooth earbuds I wanted to go fully wireless. However, some research and experimentation revealed that the technology just isn't quite there yet. The Apple Airpods aren't sport oriented. Reviews of the JLab epic air claim terrible connectivity. When it comes to wired Bluetooth options there is a never ending array. Cheaper options just don't have the sound I'm looking for. I didn't like the large body of the Bose Soundsport Wireless, and prefer bass heavy headphones. Powerbeats just seemed overpriced, and I've heart many reports of them breaking. $200 headphones shouldn't break.
I finally decided to give these a shot after hearing tons of positive reviews. Most of the negative reviews regarding fit come from people using the standard configuration and silicone ear tips. When I put these into sport -fit mode using the cord clips security was never a concern.
Most complicated fit and setup, but best reward. Sound is fantastic, and really needs to be heard. There is a huge difference between these and cheaper offerings in terms of clarity, bass, depth, dynamic range, and overall experience. There is very occasionally a microsecond dropout, so connection stability could be a little better. However, it is very good, and on par with most Bluetooth headphones today. Lots of ear wings, silicone and comply tips to find right fit. Case small, but fits in pocket. Proprietary charger pain if loose, but only a problem if you travel often and tend to loose things. This allows for better water proofing and no USB port to wear out, though connection could loosen. They claim 8 hours of battery life and that's what I got. 20 minutes of quick charging also provides a full hour of playtime.
The MySound app is pretty amazing. I thought it was a cool idea, but in practicality it makes all the difference in the world. It allows you to change the sound signature. Say you want to listen really loud and want heavy bass - there's a profile for that. If the bass if overwhelming the headphones and distorting the sound - there's a profile for that. ON that note, it is possible to overwhelm these just a little bit. However, I simply chose a different sound profile and the problem went away. If they aren't getting loud enough - choose another sound profile. You can also fine tune any profile you choose, or create your own preset and save it to the headphones no matter what device you connect them to.
Also still not ipx rated. States sweat-proof and double hydrophobic nano coating on the website. I chose the camo color and it looks amazing. Retail price is much cheaper than x2 starting price. They have improved fit, more refined, smaller ear wings, and the MySound app. MySound app is awesome, really easy to use. Probably still prefer over the ear. Unboxing is awesome, premium feel. On and off sounds very cool, and only one I've tested that has audio and visual battery indicator on Android. This is one thing I was a little jealous of Iphone's for. The battery percentage is spoken to you, and is also displayed in the app.
Overall I think you really can't beat these headphones. I should not have waited so long to buy them, and I have not regretted buying them a single day after. They are certainly worth a try, and if you do not like them they should be easily returnable.

I have to say that I have looked at a lot of these wireless headphones, some where really cheap and promised great sound but never lived up to their claim. The jaybirds do! I can honestly say that the deep and rich sound is amazing, especially if you download the app that comes with them. It allowes you to adjust the sound to how you like it no matter what music you are listening to. Secondly, they feel really comfortable in your ears and came with different sizes of tips to fit in your ears securely, which was great for me since I have smaller ears. Lastly, I love that they are wireless, no more accidentally pulling out the cord if I’m walking or exercising and causing my phone to go flying into the air. I would definitely recommend these to anyone one that wants a great experience when listening to music while walking, running, working out or just for everyday use.

Great Sounding Bluetooth Earbuds

I never owned Bluetooth earbuds before. I wanted them not for working out but for commuting. I always had problems with the cord into the phone being pulled when I got off the train or bus. These eliminate the problem.
The sound is very, very good. Bass is nice without being overbearing. I also use the Sony MDRXB50AP which I like very much. I think the Jaybird X3's is comparable to the Sony's.
The fit is very comfortable. Jaybird includes a lot of tip sizes to choose from in both silicone and foam. I am using the foam tips and I find they fit my air perfectly. I don't use the wing pieces. The Jaybird X3's don't come loose or fall out of my ears.
The My Sound app is also very nice. I like it because I can adjust the sound with the custom equalizer setting. I also like that I can download and use other people's customizations.
The only thing I don't like is the charging adapter. I wish that it was just a micro USB plug instead of the cradle that is used. I am afraid of loosing it and leave it at home. I carry a USB cable with me but it is useless in charging the Jaybird X3 without that little cradle adapter. Right now there is no way to buy another one from the company.
On the plus side, the earbud charge lasts a long time and I never needed to recharge yet. They are rated at eight hours battery life and I have used them for over six hours without problems.
I looked at reviews for the Bose and Beats earbuds, but these seemed to get the best reviews of all. That is why I decided on buying them.
I am very happy with these earbuds and I am glad I bought them.

I hesitated a long time before purchasing wireless headphones... I have owned these headphones for a month now and am very satisfied with my purchase! The primary reason why I wanted wireless headphones was for the gym. I despised whenever my phone fell out of my pocket while performing an exercise as on a decline bench and ripped my earphones out of my ears. I can gladly say, these headphones have alleviated that headache! I have not had any issues with connectivity or pairing. Also, the range on these headphones is better than expected. Likewise, the battery life is as good as I anticipated. Sound quality and retention is noticeably improved with the use of the supplied foam style ear buds... I especially love the fact that you may adjust the song settings via the app you download from the play store... If the price was $50 less, I'd give them the extra Star.

I never thought Id buy wireless headphones. I thought it was dumb apple got rid of the headphone jack then i bought a cheaper pair of wireless headphones to try and loved them and wished i had known how great wireless is. So I spent the extra money on these better pair. Wireless is so good that my opinion is totally changed and I will never buy a set of wired headphones again. These have great sound the app is easy to use and the battery lasts very long considering how small they are. And the wireless range is very good also!

These headphones have quickly become my favorite. With the foam ear pieces, they do a great job of blocking out external noise. Good sound quality and still haven’t dropped the signal. After several hours with them in my ears, I was surprised that my ears weren’t fatigued. After taking them out I did notice some sensitivity but definitely not pain. They stay in place during exercise with no issues. The adjustability on the app is awesome. Love to adjust highs and lows depending on mood or genre.

First and foremost these earphones are awesome! I highly recommend them because of the great sound, the great fit in my ears, and the cool Jaybird app feature that lets me customize the sound. And I got these at a great price!
Secondly, these earphones might even work too well. Let me explain. The sound of these earphones is so great, and they block external noise so well that if you’re not careful, then you will not hear the runner/walker/bicyclist/ attacker/car/etc. approaching you from behind. I speak from experience because I had a close call happen to me twice. Luckily, each time I was being a courteous runner and running to the far right of the path each time and nothing bad happened to me or the people approaching me from behind. No one was bumped, knocked over, spit on, or worse yet, injured. In the first incident, if I had decided to suddenly veer to my left without first looking behind me, then I would have been knocked over by a bicyclist... and/or harmed the bicyclist. Another time, if I hadn’t looked over my shoulder, then I would’ve accidentally spit on a group of ladies who were running past me on the trail. So, please keep in mind that if you buy these earphones and wear them outdoors on a run, walk, or bike ride, then please be sure you’re courteous (and safe) and *always* look over your shoulder to see if anyone is behind you before you decide to change lanes, spit, or do anything else that would affect the safety of the people you’re sharing the path with... and yourself.
On a side note: After I bought the Jaybird X3s they went on sale and dropped in price *twice* within the few weeks leading up to Christmas. But the folks in Customer Service at my local Best Buy (Henderson, NV) were great about refunding the difference to me each time the price dropped within the few weeks I bought them, and they did so with no hassles.

The earphone is a great product. There is nothing to complain about the sound quality and battery life. But the Jaybird X3 special charger is a big problem if you ever lose it (likely within the product lifespan). The only place you can buy it from is the Jaybird website and it costs $17 including shipping. But the story does not end here. Since Jaybird does not ship a lot of stuff I guess, they use a third party for all logistics. And it is hard to get an update on when your order will arrive if ever. So after 1 month wait, I received an email saying the order will not be delivered for another 2 months. So I ordered another one and 4 days later they sent me an email saying it will arrive soon. So I went through the trouble to cancel that second order which took more time. Finally I got the accessory pack which I only need the charging clip. So consider twice before you buy, beats wireless has similar sound quality.

Tried and returned the X2s - wish I could remember my main complaint. However, still wanted to try Bluetooth headphones and read good review of the X3's - so gave them a try. So far, so good. Expected experimentation to find the right fit. Sound quality is good and I've had no issues pairing to the iPhone app (sounds like others have). Instructions are online and could be better and I'm not convinced I'm getting the full 8 hrs as advertised (will assess this over time). Definitely like the freedom from my phone and they sound better than the stock Apple buds. If they continue to work well over time - I'll be a happy purchaser.
