    Made the switch from Shark

WOW!! We have always been a Shark family but after this Dyson I don't think we will go back. After initial use I couldn't believe how much the Shark was missing. In all fairness the Shark is now 3 years old so maybe its not performing like it used to. The assembly was pretty easy and I like having the wand retract in the hose. The ball made maneuvering easier than wheels and the grip is comfortable. The Dyson is lighter than the Shark but only a few pounds, the Dyson is louder than our shark but its worth the extra cleaning I got from it.

I only have 2 bedrooms that have carpet that require vacuuming, the fabric on them is not very fluffy it’s more tufted so the suction that this Dyson vacuum provides is what I need to refresh and effectively pick up the dust That can get buried in carpet. I will say it is a bit heavier than other vacuums I have had, yet for me it gives me the secure feeling that it’s really working as it seems to be so far from my assessment. Reminds me of the old school vacuums that the salesman used to sale, those things could suck up a small child, ha! Well made! Dyson has perfected the power and design of that old school quality and power. Hope this review is useful!

I received it several days ago. Assembly was very straightforward and took only 4–5 minutes . The manual provided to assemble with pictures were great. Moving the handle from the upright position to the sweeping position is much better than other vacuums. The vacuum extender reaches a full 12 stair steps easily. The design of this vacuum is excellent and light, easy to use, versatile. We liked three in one feature of this vacuum and you can go from carpet to laminate floors with a push of a button. It is amazing how much dander, fur, and other stuff it picks up. It is also more maneuverable and lighter than most vacuums I've used. It may not be lightest vacuum but because of maneuverability due to the ball, it is very easy to use. I have used it to vacuum my carpeted curving stairs, hard wood and tile floors. It works well on all floors without changing any settings for floor types. The convenience of the vacuum hose with attachments also allow me to get into my couch or detail the vertical part of the carpeted stairs. I have used it in multiple places in my home and it worked flawlessly with no issues. The powerful suction pulls the dirt from far places. The canister is transparent and it will reveal how fast it fills. It empties without any need to contact the dust. The simple design of the attachments and detachable hose makes them useful. With low profile attachments, it becomes relatively easy to reach under the sofas and tables. Key features • The Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 vacuum is light to maneuver and steers easily into difficult places. Instantly change direction with a turn of the wrist. • Powerful suction across all floors - Cleans carpets, wood floors, vinyl and tile. • Self-adjusting cleaner head - Active base plate automatically raises and lowers to seal in suction across all floors. Combined with a powerful motorized brush bar, it deep cleans dirt throughout the home • Instant release wand - Wand and long-reach hose release in one smooth action, so it's easy to clean up high and under furniture. • Radial Root Cyclone™ technology - Captures more microscopic dust than any other's cyclone. • Hygienic bin emptying - Just push the button to release. No need to touch the dirt. • Filter - HEPA Filter Key Specifications • Weight - 15.6 lbs • Suction Power - 245AW • Bin Volume - 0.42 gallons • Cord Length - 31ft • Maximum Reach - 40ft This is one of the best vacuum for all floor types and best vacuum I have ever used.

After 15 years of faithful service, it was time to get a new vacuum cleaner, and we ended up buying another Dyson. Although we have a very hairy Golden Retriever, we decided not to get the Dyson vacuum for animal owners. Our other one was just a regular Dyson vacuum and always worked just fine. This latest model doesn’t disappoint either. Very happy with our purchase!

    It’s an upright vacuum

It’s an upright vacuum. With that said, it works great on carpet AND hardwood/tile floors. Because I’m trying to clean up after a remodel, there’s dust EVERYWHERE! This beast has been pulling it all up. It’s a little on the heavier side, BUT it maneuvers extremely well, maybe a little too well. Trying to coordinate it to a specific area is a little tricky, but once you’re there, it does great around corners and right up to the wall. I was able to put it in the closet and easily reach all the corners. On the hardwood floors, I was able to pick up all the dust, but had to go over it with a dry mop to buffer out any markings. There’s an added switch where you can start or stop the brush depending on which floor you’re on. The front of the vacuum is nice too because you can get right up to the electronic cords, and not have to worry about them getting sucked up. Also, if you’re looking to pick up something larger than dust, you’ll have to “chomp” the vacuum over it. Here’s my real dilemma with the vacuum...it’s so powerful, using the hose is rather challenging. The suction is so strong, the hose just wants to keep retracting into a tight coil. I’m used to vacuuming off the furniture, and you almost need to throw the hose over your shoulder just to get some balance with it. Hence my title for post, it is meant to be an upright vacuum, not necessarily a multi-purposed one. I haven’t had any problems keeping the hose attached like other reviewers, although it is challenging to insert. I think the machine could use some design upgrades. For example, some areas seem so fragile with plastic, I’m afraid they’ll break at some point. That’s a suggestion for Dyson! Overall, this is a great machine (so far), and it’s replacing a 20+ year old Eureka model I got when I first got an apartment. The suction is great. Maneuverability is great. Agility is great. Hose functionality is ok. I’m willing to make it work!

I have never owned a vacuum with this much suction power, it’s absolutely amazing. Although you need to be careful on rugs as it’s so powerful it tends to pull threads of rug out. For the price I paid for this on sale it is the best vacuum I’ve ever had I just wish it had anti tangle pet hair roller and a little stronger upright latch.

This is our 2nd Dyson vacuum cleaner and I swear these things are gold. I absolutely love this one. We used to have the purple Animal Vac and it lasted us 8 years and worked beautifully. Then it totally died and we bought a Shark. Well, after 2 years, we realized it wasn't sucking very well was leaving dirt in our carpet. Today we purchased this one and it is amazing!! Just a great as our old one and works great!! I am attaching a picture I took after we vacuumed with the Shark, then went back over it with the Dyson. This is worth the money!!

My wife vacuumed the entire house with our Hoover the day before we purchased our Dyson. We opened up our new Dyson, assembled which took all of five minutes and then proceeded to vacuume the entire house again. We had to empty the canister twice! It’s incredible powerful! You get what you pay for. Richard at Best Buy was super helpful and even helped get a new mixer for my wife.

My first Dyson was an “animal.” it was amazing. I had it for about 12 years. It still works but I wanted a smaller, light-weight version. I love this vacuum. Very efficient and powerful.

I've owned a Dyson vacuum for several years and have sworn by their vacuums ever since I switched from alternative makes. Their Ball Multi Floor 2 has improved on just about every account. I was able to assemble it fairly quickly with about four main steps once you get it out of the box. You can feel the improvement in the power immediately, however you can hear it as well as it seems to be a bit louder than the prior version. I believe the cleaning power and versatility makes up for the noise. The extension cord is longer than the prior model, long enough to reach most standard room areas without having to search for another outlet which I had to do previously. The attachments fit neatly on the side of the unit without getting in the way and are useful on stairs and other tight or out of reach places. The canister is larger than the previous model and is just as easy to take off and clean. The ball mobility is great when steering the vacuum. This new version also has a button that you can turn the spinning brush off which helps when going over small rugs so they don't get sucked up and roll around the spinning brush. If something catches on the spinning brush, it was as simple as pulling it out after turning the vacuum off and then it was right back up and running after I turned it back on; no need to reset the spinning brush. My only question would be can a vacuum be too powerful? It did leave substantial lines on one of our area rugs that eventually came out with some traffic. It almost felt as if the vacuum suction cupped to the rug itself, which I suppose was the intent to suck out all of the dirt the prior model couldn't get too. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the market for a vacuum and consider it a long term investment because you won't have to replace it for years assuming you take care of it.

My wife and I thought we were clean people.....were we ever wrong! We have a vacuum that we thought did a decent job. It picked up dirt every time we used it. In comes the Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 which changed my entire outlook on how clean my house is. Unboxing the vacuum only took a few minutes. Some minor assembly is required. Just snapping pieces together, no putting in screws or using special tools. After putting it together I vacuumed my living room 3 times, and look at the picture to see for yourself the amount of dirt this vacuum picked up! It is light weight, has a small frame, and it turns on a dime! The ball that the vacuum rolls on makes turning corners and dodging objects a breeze! The extendable wand is already attached to a hose, not taking apart any pieces to but it all together. This vacuum effortlessly transitions from carpet to hard floors with the push of a button that turns off the brush roll. The vacuum auto adjusts to the carpet or floor height to keep good suction on the floor. All in all, I should have gotten a Dyson YEARS ago! You will never believe how dirty your carpet really is! Try it, you won't regret it!

I got this vacuum after using another premium brand for years. The vacuum I had was designed for tile/wood floors and very low pile carpet (rugs really), which means it didn’t have a beater bar or rotating brush. We moved into a new house that had bedrooms carpeted with more of a medium depth, but the suction on our vacuum was really strong so I didn’t replace it. When I got this Dyson, I let my teenage son use it first and you can see the results in the picture I’ve uploaded. He vacuums his room at least twice a month, and we thought the carpets were getting clean, but the Dyson showed us the truth. This thing is STRONG! It is also very easy to assemble out of the box. The instructions are all graphic and quite easy to understand. I had it out of the box and powered up in less than 10 minutes. I will admit that, in my haste to try things out, I didn’t realize there was a button that allows you to turn off the power brush. I managed to suck about ¼ of my entryway rug up before I could hit the power. Lesson learned. Coming to this from a canister vacuum showed me what I had been missing in maneuverability, a feature enhanced by the ball-joint from whence this vacuum gets its name. A simple twist of the wrist allows the head to effortlessly turn in either direction; especially helpful in getting up against the toe-kick of the kitchen cupboards. There is plenty of cord to reach the entirety of any room you’re cleaning and the detachable handle/wand provides good reach for ceiling fans and cobweb-filled corners.

    Nice Upgrade from DC-07 Animal

I've been a loyal Dyson user since my first DC-07 Animal that I got back in 2005. I dropped $500 on a vacuum and thought it was crazy, but after seeing how much more it picked up compared to our old Kenmore vacuum, I was hooked. Our DC-07 is a beast that has served us well over it's 12 years, but with the chance to upgrade to a v2 Ball, we jumped at the chance! I'm glad we did too! Dyson's claim to fame is that the vacuums don't lose suction - and just like the DC-07, I was surprised by how strong the v2 was. I ran a path in our bedroom, which has thick carpet, with the DC-07 and then ran the v2 Ball over the same stretch. Not only did the v2 pick up more debris that the DC-07 left (see screenshot) but it actually took some muscle to maneuver it on the carpet because of how strong the pull of the vacuum was! Like any vacuum, there's some assembly required, but nothing tedious and no tools required. The first thing I noticed was how much smaller in size the vacuum and canister were in the v2 compared to the DC-07. While this may deter some users who don't want to stop more often, I was still able to vacuum the house on a single tank. The v2 also comes with washable filters and a duster, crevice and furniture attachment. Which was nice, since those were really all we used on the DC-07 also. One thing to be aware of - since the v2 Ball puts all the torque at the connection point, it can be harder to maneuver on thicker carpets than a traditional design like the DC-07. The trade off is how much more debris the v2 collects combined with the fact that the default head also doubles as a low-clearance head. Previously, if we wanted to get under the edges of the furniture, we had to use a different head altogether. Dyson products aren't cheap - the v2 was $400, but one piece of advice my mom gave me was not to go cheap on a vacuum. I've been a happy Dyson customer for over 12 years and I expect, with the performance of the v2 Ball, I'll be a happy customer for another 12! Pros ------ Extremely easy to maneuver on solid floors (tile, hardwood, etc) Lighter weight due to newer build than DC-07 Powerful suction from a low-clearance head Cons ------- Ball design can make maneuvering on thick carpet more of a chore Dyson still doesn't use a retractable cord design for power cord Older attachments don't fit - not surprised after 12 years of design innovation Overall ---------- If you're looking for a solid vacuum that is easy to lift, store and use - save your bananas and pony up for a Dyson. The only difference between the v2 Ball and v2 Animal are the attachments you get in the box. We went for the basic figuring we could always get more attachments later if needed.

Vacuum cleaners are a bane in this household. In the 20 years we have gone through 30 vacuums. Not a joke! They simply break down. We have tried Hoover, LG, Eureka, Bissell, etc. Price and quality are not the issues. We stayed away from Dyson because we felt it was more hype than function. Friends told us to try Dyson but we still stayed clear. Who wants to spend $500 on a vacuum because with our luck it will break. We were off base! After trying the Multi Floor 2, my wife and I are impressed. This machine is a work of art, lightweight, quiet, and works great! It really sucks up dirt. The rolling ball makes cleaning effortless and easier to maneuver. People told us that the Dyson is worth every penny and I believe they were right! Love the Dyson MF 2!! The cannister does not hold much but it's easy empty. I excitedly put the Dyson together and used it...felt like the carpet had not been vacuumed in weeks. What a difference!
