No, these are still not as powerful as corded units. No, these are not as reliable as corded units. But, this unit does have plenty of power for our needs, and they last long enough to make it worthwhile. The two main failures on these are the brush head and eventually the battery life starts to suck. Figure 2-3 years. If you expect more, then you will be disappointed. Be realistic, and these are great.

I have a German Shepherd Dog - need I say more? I needed a lightweight cordless vacuum because I use it daily - sometimes a few times a day. German Shedders leave a fur trail - the Dyson is perfect. Lightweight, powerful and a snap to use and charge. LOVE IT.

Lightweight and easy to use. Very easy to empty the cylinder. The only complaint would be the battery life.

We've had it over a month now and we are definitely pleased we got it. We live in a small house and just use it for quick clean ups. I mounted it which is a must for convenience and since it's charge doesn't last long, although it's never actually gone dead on us, we've always finished the job before it does. It's more powerful than I thought it would be (on Max mode). On regular mode it's totally enough power for hardwood floor and short rugs. Regular carpets I would say require Max mode. It's very easy to empty the bin into the trash. It's so quick and easy that the size it holds doesn't really matter, when it gets full just give it a quick empty. The ONLY thing I don't like is not to do with performance but that the nice colorful post scratches easily. If you go under a desk and it catches the bottom etc.

Bought this for my mother who doesn't use it very often. She went to use it and it stopped after 2 minutes. Now I have to troubleshoot form across the country. Would the battery go out on a 2 year old vacuum? And how do you change it?

VAry light weight. We have lots of pine needles and this keeps the hallway clean in 30 seconds. So light weight it is a breeze to use even with the long wand attached. Both of us love the ease of the wall mount. Hardwood floors throughout the house so if we do 2 rooms at a time the battery hold up fine. Might buy another for the RV.

This vacuum has it all-portable, powerful, quiet and thorough. I have almost replaced my full sized heavy-duty y Dyson with it

Don’t let the price tag scare you away, this product is awesome. It’s ability to get under furniture and also also be used to vacuume our the vehicles has hade life a little easier for us.We took advantage of the wall mount so that it’s charging at all times when we aren’t using it. Overall a good buy

I bought this vacuum in particular hoping to use it for the car. It is amazing. Great suction power. So light. I upgraded from an older Dyson Ball Vacuum and its fantastic. Easy storage, great on rugs, great on hardwood floors. I'm so happy with the purchase, Got it at a decent discount too!!

This unit does not HAVE to be wall mounted, it is optional. If you choose to you can set the top section on a table or on the floor to recharge anywhere that is convenient. We have a shedding long haired dog and a family member with flakey psoriasis outbreaks so sometimes I vac twice a day. Unit is very efficient, lightweight and extremely easy to clean. Dog hair removes easily from roller but because of the powerful suction it seems to get wrapped around less than with my other vacs. Picks up very well on hard floors or carpet, the tight swivel is wonderful in narrow areas and it goes under low furniture. Great Vac! Makes a tedious task soooo easy!!!

Powerful, lightweight and easy to use. Being cordless makes it a pleasure to vacuum. It picks up everything. I just wish the charge lasted longer, 30 minutes goes by fast.

This is our best purchase this Fall. The Dyson stick is so easy to use and with little children and a puppy it is essential to keep after the little messes that are always possible. We love how easy it is to use, how long the charge lasts, how powerful it is on wood floors, stone floors, and carpet, and how light it is for upstairs and downstairs. Each of our households in the family (3) now owns one as we all raved about what a great vacuum it is

I purchased this item as a 'surprise' gift for my wife. I know, don't judge me. When it was delivered, just two days later (thank you, Best Buy) the UPS guy left it by our back door. I told my wife to go out and say Hello to her new 'little friend' (thank you, Al Pacino). When she went out and picked up the box, she said what did you do? I told her that I saw it on TV and that you're going to love it. We plugged it in and let it charge overnight, while she read the instructions and what it could do. I was still sleeping the next morning, when my wife came in to wake me up. I came out to the kitchen to a huge breakfast, a hug AND a kiss. My wife told me that she was able to vacuum the indoor / outdoor carpet around our back door, the tile floor in the kitchen, the carpeted family room, the sun porch carpet and the hallway in about 15 minutes and not one time did she have to get on her hands and knees in order to get in all the nooks and crannies. She LOVES it. I just told her to consider it to be another 'tool' in her tool box. Thank you, Dyson, that was the best breakfast I had in quite some time!

I bought this 2 years ago on sale. I never thought I'd pay as much as I did for a vacuum cleaner, but I'm glad I did. Over the years I've bought many cheap vacuum cleaners that worked like, well, cheap vacuum cleaners. This time around I bought two expensive vacuum cleaners (an iRobot Roomba and this Dyson), and I think they complement each other perfectly. The Roomba pretty much automatically keeps the house mostly pet hair free takes care of most day-to-day debris, but it does not alleviate the need for occasional REAL vacuuming. That's where the Dyson comes in. The Dyson's battery only lasts about 15 minutes at a time, but that's plenty for small touch-ups or in-depth vacuuming of a room or two. I also pull it out to do the stairs, which the Roomba has no knack for. I thought the 15-minute battery would be a major problem at first, but I think I've only actually run it down to nothing maybe 3 times in the 2 years I've had it. You just know you can't dilly dally, so reasonably fast to get the most out of the charge. As an additional bonus, I find being so cognizant of time and battery really does get me to finish vacuuming faster, which gives me more time for other things. And unlike some of the cheap vacuums I've owned, the Dyson does not force me to keep re-doing dirty areas trying to pick up the mess of the day. Instead, it's powerful suction cleans things up quickly. Anything bad: well, as I said, the battery time is fairly short, so that can be a problem if you're set on vacuuming the whole house in one pass. But if you get used to doing a room or two at a time, it works great. Being cordless is great! No running over the stupid cord or messing with the auto-rolling cords and any of that nonsense. But the battery does make the vacuum a little heavy. Doing one or two rooms at a time works out there too! If the battery lasted much longer I'd probably wind up with a sore arm from trying to work the vacuum longer. Otherwise, no problems and no complaints. I should have gotten one of these sooner!

Great product and easy-to-use we have a house mostly of wood floors and this product works wonderfully to be able to vacuum our big rugs is so great and convenient and not have to worry about all the wires and plugs we are so grateful for this product

We got it on sale and love it. Its really light and easy to use and clean. My only gripe is the battery. Its nice and has decent life but dies stupid quick in the max suction mode. We mostly have wood floor and very light rugs so its great. For heavier use I'd look at the more powerful models especially if you have very heavy shedding pets.

Great light weight vacuum, had to return unfortunately but I just upgraded to one that would be better for my household

I bought this to replace our corded vacuum and I’m so glad I did! Other cordless vacuums were extremely top heavy, but this one is lightweight and easy to maneuver. My 7 year old daughter loves to vacuum her room with it. I don’t use the max suction very often because it kills the battery fast! None-the-less I feel it was worth every penny! Dyson does it again.
