Yes, it's spendy. Do your shopping and don't fuss with the color to get the best price. There's a surge pricing on popular colors. PROs: remote start up, excellent sound quality, snazzy look, great bass for the size, useful EQ presets that REMEMBER the last setting during startup, easy pairing, the app remembers settings and makes connection simple each time, volume to fill a room, a 15 minute delay before power-down, solid warranty terms. CONS: spendy, but worth it. Deep set charging port with waterproof flap.

This speaker sounds incredible. Deep base, clear vocals, everything sounds great. Battery life is fantastic and charging is fairly quick. Only other speaker that compares is the JBL Extreme but in my opinion this speaker sounds a lot better. Being able to pair multiple speakers together is really cool if you have friends with the same speaker.

It’s an awesome portable speaker, the battery last forever and the app and adjustable EQ is a cool feature. You can turn the speaker on or off with the app and your smartphone. It sounds pretty good and goes pretty loud. I think it’s rated around 30watts. There’s only passive bass radiators and it would sound better if it had an actual powered subwoofer. But for the price on sale, portability, app and ruggedness, it sounds awesome.

The longer battery life and the fact that it is water proof let me feel a lot more comfortable about this being outside. It is much louder than the original Boom. I will say that they can be linked via the app but have trouble being in stereo mode unless they are the same model. So if you link you will have two mono speakers.

It is really a great speaker. I checked about reviews about it and defiinietly everything about it was correct. Very loud speaker, water proof all around and the battery life is amazing. I was able to get about 3 days playing it at high volume without giving it a charge. Im loving this speaker and its a top 5 in my books.

I am so happy with this purchase. The sound quality is fabulous, battery life excellent and the water resistant feature make this product the best in it's class! I have been using this product nonstop since my purchase and recommend to everyone! This speaker has a hefty price tag but worth every penny in my opinion!

We needed a blue tooth speaker that was portable and sounded good. I tested many other brands but found the Megaboom blew them all away!! Rich bass, clear mids and hi frequencies, even at max volume with no distortion! Battery lasts for hours and hours with single charge. Well worth the money!!

I purchased this as a gift for my husband. He wanted a waterproof speaker for his boat that was compact and removable. The sound quality is great, it's small enough to fit in the consoles cup holder and syncs easily with his Bluetooth. Haven't needed to test the waterproof-ability yet.

I have another, smaller, Bluetooth speaker that is best in class, so it was difficult to find a better speaker to meet my needs. I went to BB for another speaker, but the sales lady suggested that I listen to this one as well. She was spot on. I use this to fill a cafeteria size room for singalongs. It works great at filling the room - not just in decibels, bass full, vocals clear, no lag or static as I move around the room with my phone. The Bluetooth performance is better than any I've experienced. The app is nifty, but doesn't add much for my use. Holds a charge longer than I know - days. I love the carrying case and accessory stash. Overall, simple, well made and performs better than expected - best at that price.

We bought the UE Boom 2 first and found it wasn't loud enough for the large-ish room size we needed to fill. We returned it and upgraded to the UE Megaboom. We were surprised to find that it was louder than its smaller brother, but not drastically so. Not enough to make a difference in our needs. So we'll be returning this as well and going with a portable battery powered PA system instead for less money and greater power output. If you find the UE Boom 2 is already expensive for what it is, like I do, the Megaboom is way over the top at $250. This should be a $150 product with the Boom 2 at $100. It's not really that much more powerful than the smaller Boom 2 in our informal living room test. The biggest benefit over the Boom 2 is that the sound quality holds up better at higher volumes than the smaller Boom 2 does. Makes sense with its larger drivers in the Megaboom. Like the Boom 2 review, I'm docking one star for the price. Everything else is good or better than most other small portable Bluetooth speaker options. For the money, there's probably better options, so I'd only recommend this if you have money to burn or if you only plan to use it in smaller settings

I was using an inexpensive iHome system in my basement workshop, and when the RCA connector gave out I went to Best Buy to get the same Bose blue-tooth speaker I had bought for my son. While I was browsing other choices, one of the associates showed me the UE Boom, which he owned and preferred over the Bose. I was impressed to say the least. Then we both listened to the Megaboom, which they had just gotten in. I was even more impressed (and so was he), and and our preview even attracted another associate over to join us. I am more that satisfied with this speaker. It's form and function are exceptional. In particular it's features are simple, exactly what is needed, and work flawlessly. For a blue-tooth speaker, the sound is well beyond what I had expected. It is also a quality build, both attractive and solid. I use it in a dusty workshop and it cleans up nicely. In my opinion, this speaker is in all respects heads above the others I previewed in this price range. I am very happy with this purchase!

Had a friend show me his mega boom. And it was rockin. So at the store I could compare the mega to the smaller boom. In my opinion no other way to go than the mega boom. I pack it my side by side and ride trails all day. It's Bluetooth and water resistant also. Can't beat it

Exceptional sound, good separation between base and treble. This speaker can be placed anywhere in the house and pickup signal from Bluetooth device. We use it a lot at the pool and never experience any problems. Well worth the extra money! Very pleased with this purchase.

The sound on the megaboom is AMAZING and fills any room you put it in. The waterproof ability is awesome for having it by the pool and not having to worry about it falling in. The battery life can't be beat. It really is the best portable bluetooth speaker you can buy.

Where do I begin?!? This thing is waterproof, portable, has a ton of battery life -- and sounds absolutely amazing. Blows Bose, Beats, JBL, Monster, etc. out of the water with its clarity, imaging, frequency response, and ease of use. You can't go wrong with this one!

This is a great speaker with an excellent sound. We took this speaker to the beach and it performed very good. We were not worried about water or sand hurting it. It worked great and we will take this with us every time we go to the beach.

Very happy with this speaker after using it for a few weeks. Easy connects to my laptop and phone, sound quality is excellent, and battery life is amazing. I tested it in some the shower the fact that it's waterproof is a definite plus. Highly recommend

i truly love this portable speaker. it gets really loud in a small kitchen , bedroom and living room with a great thumping bass. Not sure how'd it perform outside as i haven't had the chance to use it outdoors. reason for 4 stars , is i'd wish it could charge a phone. other than that great all around , especially the hardcore battery life !

2 years ago I bought the UE boom but ultimately returned it in favor of the Bose sound link mini. This speaker is even better than the Bose. I got it for my friends birthday and it's amazing. And fully waterproof. Great for beach. Highly recommend
